Valeo Service aims at accelerated growth in Indian automotive aftermarket

Valeo Service India Auto Parts Pvt. Ltd., a joint venture of Valeo and the Anand Group, started operations in April 2012 to distribute automotive items produced by the manufacturing companies of the two groups in the independent aftermarket across India, under the Valeo brand name. The company targets the fast growing automotive aftermarket and offers its customers best practices in sales and marketing in order to create a world-class supply chain process and logistics infrastructure.

Within a year of commencement of operation Valeo Service established a strong footprint in the Indian aftermarket with its five product lines that include clutches for passenger cars, trucks & tractors, starters and alternators for passenger cars, wiper blades for passenger cars, oil, fuel & air filters for two-wheelers, three-wheelers, passenger cars, trucks & tractors, and shock absorbers & struts for passenger cars, two-wheeler and three-wheeler segments. Most of the Valeo products come with a unique label ‘Valeorigin’, indicating that they are of OE or equivalent quality.

Valeo Service has been quite successful in penetrating markets across the country through its wide network. To support the servicing of customers, the company has also put in place enhanced warehousing infrastructure at 12 locations across India. With its high standard logistics network, the company ensures deliveries to customers anywhere in India within 48 hours.

Valeo’s involvement in automotive business in India is not new. It has been an automotive supplier in the country since 1997 and has over 2,000 employees across five production sites in Chennai and Pune and an R&D facility in Chennai. It manufactures clutches, friction materials, lighting systems, security systems, starters and alternators.

Valeo Service has drawn up an aggressive road map for expanding its business in the Indian market in the current year. It plans to expand distribution of its range of shock absorbers and filters through an extended customer network and introduce a comprehensive range of quality new product lines. The R&D centers and project teams in Chennai are working on the new products.

Valeo India has achieved the unique distinction of having received the Top Employer Award in India from the Top Employer Institute, Netherlands, on February 11 this year. It was also one among the companies from China, Japan, Korea and Thailand to be honored with the Asia Pacific Top Employer certification awarded for the first time this year.
