The Agarwal Movers Group (AMG), the home-grown logistics and transportation major, is quite confident of doubling its current turnover to Rs. 1,000-1,100 crores on the back of the phenomenal response to its new-found initiatives rolled out last year. AMG, which is now a household name in the domestic relocation industry, has managed to carve its niche with the ‘Trucking Cube’ concept for which it has earmarked approximately Rs. 100 crores that will be deployed in phases.
After revolutionizing the field of relocation needs in the country, AMG is looking to migrate its entire service to the different-sized cube container model by early next year. The Delhi-based firm has maintained that the new project will help it cut down losses incurred due to goods that get damaged in transit.
In an exclusive interaction with MOTORINDIA, Mr. Ramesh Agarwal, Founder, Mentor, Chairman & Managing Worker of Agarwal Movers Group, stated: “Going forward, we want to reform the logistics industry completely and want to do away with the menace of damage (during goods in transit) and want to ensure that there is zero damage and zero insurance. We are aiming to reduce losses worth Rs. 2,000 crores incurred by the logistics industry due to transhipment. If the requirement for insurance drops down, then success will definitely take care of us. We expect to grow by 30% every year for a decade because of our innovative growth. We are getting into the organised space with our trucking operations getting outsourced to third party operators. In three and a half years, we intend to grow by 100% to Rs. 1,100-1,200 crores.”
AMG, which runs a fleet of over 1,000 self-owned vehicles and 103 branch offices that serve more than 1,264 locations across the country, is already running 30 parking hubs with the mother hub in Gurgaon and a mega facility established at Malkapur, a municipal council in Buldhana district in Maharashtra.
Asked about trucking cubes, Mr. Agarwal stated: “The Rs. 100-crore investment for trucking cubes will be made over the next three years to grow the eco-system and ramp up the number of cubes fivefold to 10,000 units. It is important for the customer to know and understand the value brought by its transport partner.”
It is to be mentioned here that the trucking cube offers delivery of goods by transporting through containers of different sizes such as 4, 6, 8, 12, 16 and 20 feet assigned to users. The nearly three-decade-old company is already on course to switch over to complete trucking cube adoption which will be instrumental in eliminating transhipment issues and increasing the efficiency by 200 per cent, while also reducing costs by six per cent.
“Customers will be able to order a container depending on the volume of goods they have to get transported. They can keep the keys of the container so that it can be unlocked by them only at the final destination. There is also a new feature of tracking and monitoring so that our clients can track the location of their consignments as our trucks are equipped with the ‘GPS’ system for online tracking. We are also firming up plans to assign special containers for food and pharma consignments. This is primarily because there has been rampant rancidity in the food and pharma industry and by transporting goods in air-circulated cubes can prevent such incidence,” affirmed Mr. Agarwal.
Founded in 1987 by ex-airman, Mr. Ramesh Agarwal, AMG ranks among India’s largest logistics and supply chain companies. It is a Rs. 550-crore business conglomerate that has diversified interests in infrastructure development, air cargo terminal management, relocation transportation, logistics, 3PL, warehousing and related activities.
