Together with Dr. V. Sumantran, Executive Vice Chairman of Hinduja Automotive and Chairman of Albonair, Dr. René Rüdinger and Dr. Georg Hüthwohl, Managing Directors of Albonair GmbH, recently inaugurated the new production hall at the corporate headquarters in Dortmund, Germany. With a symbolic act, the series production line for Euro VI dosing systems, which is also installed in the new hall, was put into operation.
The automotive supplier Albonair, specializing in the development and production of exhaust aftertreatment systems, will be manufacturing dosing systems in the semi-automatic production line which a major European manufacturer of commercial vehicles will install into its Euro VI vehicles.
“Due to the increasing production volume that we are facing this year, we are quite pleased to put the new hall and simultaneously the new production line into operation. With this expansion, our annual capacity reaches 200,000 dosing systems,” explained Dr. René Rüdinger.
Dr. Sumantran complimented the Albonair team on the completion of this important milestone in a timely manner. “Albonair has been strategically positioned to address the growing global need for environment-friendly technologies and solutions. This extension of production capacity is a strong foundation for future growth of Albonair and contributes to the strategic vision of the Hinduja Group – to invest globally in future-relevant mobility technologies. With start of series production, we are hopeful of the even stronger role that Albonair may play as an eminent global supplier of high-efficiency exhaust after-treatment systems.”
An additional 900 m² area is now available to Albonair with the new production hall at the headquarters in Dortmund. A special feature of the new production line is that it is installed in a clean room that is separated from the rest of the hall by means of a lock, and supplied with filtered air. By assembling the dosing systems in a dust-free environment, Albonair guarantees production to the highest standards of quality, as demanded in the automotive industry.
In addition to the series production line for the European market, the new building provides office space close to the production facilities and room for storage and logistics.
By expanding production space, Albonair plans to create 40 new jobs over a period of three years, 30 of which will be in the industrial sector. Currently, the corporation employs 160 people around the world with 120 of them in Dortmund alone.
In addition to the Dortmund headquarters, Albonair is represented by a production site in Chennai in India, and has two further subsidiaries in Shanghai and Detroit.
The mission of Albonair GmbH is to make the air cleaner with innovative exhaust aftertreatment systems developed in Germany. The company, headquartered in Dortmund, develops and produces SCR, diesel particulate filter and combined systems for commercial vehicles and passenger cars. From Germany, Albonair, as member of the multinational Hinduja Group, guides its worldwide company network with locations in China (Shanghai), India (Chennai) and the US (Detroit).
Dr. René Rüdinger and Dr. Georg Hüthwohl jointly manage the company’s fortunes.
