Time for path-breaking & futuristic technologies to take centre stage
It’s time for another riveting edition of the country’s largest and most exciting automotive trade fair – the AUTO EXPO. For the third edition running, the Auto Expo, jointly organized by Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA), Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), will be held as two separate shows –The Motor Show scheduled from 9-14 February 2018 at India Expo Mart in Greater Noida and Components Show from 8-11 February 2018 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
The Motor Show 2018, spread over an area of 65,000 sq. m. across 14 indoor exhibition halls, is all set give visitors an adrenaline rush through 24 new launches and 100+ unveilings. The theme for this year’s Motor Show will be ‘Co-Create, Co-Exist and Celebrate’ with focus on the ‘Entire Mobility Eco-System’.
Sharing his comments on the Motor Show, Mr. Vishnu Mathur, Director General, SIAM, said: “The Auto Expo has conventionally been one of the most pursued platforms for the automobile industry in India and with the continued success of the show, it has gained a global thrust giving the participating brands a worldwide exposure. Auto Expo – The Motor Show 2018 is aimed at celebrating the industry’s biggest automotive event offering an opportunity to the Industry and visitors to Co-Create, Co-Exist and Celebrate.”
Into the future
At Pragati Maidan, the Component Show promises to provide an excellent B2B platform for the showcase of new products, innovative solutions and futuristic technologies that will shape the future of not just the Indian auto industry but also make a mark in the global auto arena, as reflected in the theme for this year: ‘Automotive Technologies that Drive the World’ focusing on innovations and futuristic technologies.
Setting the tone for the Component Show, Mr. Vinnie Mehta, Director General, ACMA, said: “In the backdrop of a slew of regulatory changes, the Auto Expo – Components show will exhibit path-breaking technologies for the future of mobility. Further, fast integration of the Indian auto component industry into the global supply chain is leading to a year on year increase of international participants at the event. We are confident that this edition of Auto Expo – Components will witness more traction in trade and business than any of the previous editions.”
The Component Show will be spread over an area of 60,000 sq. m. with participation from around 1,200 exhibitors from over 20 countries. Several international pavilions including those from China, Canada, Germany, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea and the U.K. will have on display an array of cutting-edge component technologies. Overseas delegations from around 15 countries have already confirmed their participation in order to explore market and investment opportunities. The show will have focused pavilions on Bearings and Garage Equipment, besides an exclusive ACMA Safer Drives Pavilion to sensitize the public towards their responsibilities on the road and use of genuine spare parts.
With rapid globalization opening up newer avenues for the transportation industry, and the shift towards electric and hybrid cars, which are deemed more efficient, safe and reliable modes of transportation, Auto Expo 2018 would also highlight and deliberate on the newer opportunities for auto-component manufacturers, who would need to adapt to the change via systematic research and development. With such technology changes imminent, skill development will also be one of the focus areas to be deliberated at the event. Apart from the display of path-breaking products and technologies, various conferences and workshops are being organized parallely to make the visitors aware of the global trends in the automotive arena.
