Allied Nippon – Riding a global winning streak

Allied Nippon is synonymous with reliable and qualitative brake pads, brake shoes and brake linings. Catering to the entire range of automotive industry including HCV, LCV, and 6-8 wheelers, Allied Nippon has made deep inroads into the international CV markets since its inception in 1983. As one of the first manufacturers of such auto components – for passenger cars to begin with – Allied Nippon had begun by opting for a technical collaboration in 1982 with Japan Brake Industrial Company for brake linings.

Today, Allied Nippon has established itself as a trusted brand in more than 50 countries including Germany, France in Europe, the UK, South America, Middle East among others.

Mr. Anshul Khari, Senior Manager – International Business, shares: “Last year, about 50 per cent of our total business was dedicated to CVs globally. Our brake pads withstand wear and tear to a large extent. And that is why our products are preferred by every major OEM globally. Currently, we are witnessing a major change in the Indian market too. It is slowly drifting to medium-priced but high quality products from a cost-sensitive one. It is so because customers are now looking for safer products since brake pads, brake shoes and brake linings are safety critical components.”

According to him, their customers swear by the ‘powerful stopping power of the friction products even at high temperatures’. He says: “When it comes to trucks, they have to brave many a weather condition, temperature and terrain. A truck needs durable and quality brakes which can work in any condition. And that is our USP.”

He further claims that the ‘life of Allied Nippon products is between 50,000 to 1,00,000 km’ because it is the quality formulation which is at the heart of a reliable product.

Allied Nippon has an R&D department in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, where it conducts the testing of the product formulation in their own laboratories.

Participating in Automechanika Kuala Lumpur has given Allied Nippon a wider audience, especially because Malaysia has a strong manufacturing gene and people choose quality. And that is why Allied Nippon is maintaining its winning streak globally.

CV has always been a very high technological segment in terms of R&D. so the organic formulation which was not there in passenger cars it has already been launched in commercial vehicles three to four years back and is still improving. The new formulation is ceramic which is being grabbed by many brake pad companies. And it is a durable formulation.  Many of the American companies are into ceramic field. And we have also introduced ceramic formulation few months back.
