ALP Overseas Pvt. Ltd. is part of the $60 million ALP Group, providing world class sealing systems since 1984 in India and across the world. The group’s main focus has been on automobiles, mass transportation, construction, building and industrial sealings.
Outlining its general growth strategy in an informal chat with Mr. R. Natarajan, Mr. Tejbir Anand, Managing Director, ALP Overseas Private Ltd., said the company’s product consistency is indeed its USP. The group has its two divisions, i.e., ALP Overseas Private Ltd. and ALP Nishikawa. While ALP-Nishikawa, a 50:50 joint venture with Nishikawa Rubber Company of Japan, is having major focus on passenger cars, and a preferred supplier to Nissan, Maruti, Honda, Toyota, Mahindra, etc., the ALP Overseas has a wide ranging focus on segments including bus & trucks, railways and construction equipments, etc.
The products manufactured by ALP include seals, gaskets and weatherstrips which have a wide range of end-user applications, ranging from automotive to construction. The company’s extruded and moulded rubber parts are used in automotive windshields, bus body seals, doors and windows in building construction seals for food containers and also household applications.
Coming from the passenger car background and going into CV, ALP Overseas adds a lot of value to its products. The products are automatically upgraded with the latest technology. The company has distribution centres all over India where stock transfers are readily available. The company maintains delivery schedule of its products within 24 hours through its warehouses.
ALP Group is now diversifying into thermo plastics and replacement rubber, which can be easily recycled. It is also planning to get into plastic injection molding for body components and carpeting.
The Group exports almost 60 per cent of its production to Europe and the US. It has an annual turnover of Rs. 340 crores, which is expected to be doubled in the next three years.
