“Since this is an aftermarket focused expo, we target bus body builders, automotive body workshops, dealers and distributors, along with OEM and export market clients”, said Mr. Suresh Kumar, General Manager – Marketing and Sales. He said ASP has a strong presence in the replacement market in the country, with dealers and distribution network across all States and regions. About 20 per cent of total volume sales accounts for aftermarket, he added.

ASP Group started its operations under a JV partnership with SAIAG Industria Spa, Italy, for manufacturing EPDM Rubber Weatherstrips in 1989. At present, the group has three subsidiaries that includes ASP Sealing Products (under JV with Standard Profil, Turkey, manufacturing EPDM and PVC Scaling Systems), ASP Hoses (Industrial and Automotive Hoses), and ASP Overseas.

The company’s products find specific application in automotive as roof-line seals, door and window seals, side moulds, hood seals, hoses for air brakes, CNG, radiator, and hydraulic systems, and so on. Its OEM clients includes Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland, Mahindra, ACE, JCB, Eicher, Volvo, Scania, Alstom and Piaggio, to name a few.

With regard to exports, Mr. Sanjeev Bhatia, Senior General Manager – International Relations, said that ASP exports products to over 47 countries across the globe. About 12 per cent of volumes are exported, of which a huge majority caters to automotive applications. He opined that participation of international visitors at Automechanika this year could have been better, as ASP Sealing Products recorded less number of enquiries from overseas clients than expected.
