The Ahmedabad-based ‘Automotive Textile Solutions LLP’ (ATS) started its operation in 2016 on the back of Director Sachin Sharma’s two decades of experience in the automotive / textile industry. With his own company, ATS, Mr. Sharma focuses on the seat fabric requirements of the commercial vehicle segment.
Colour and design play a vital role in enhancing the ambience of a bus interior.
Hence Mr. Sharma ventured into designing and manufacturing fabrics of various colors / pattern for the bus industry.
He said: “If one observes and discuss the seating fabrics with bus body builders/fleet operators, 90 per cent prefer blue or the shade of blue that goes for the seating and rest 10 per cent is maroon or the shade of red & grey.”
“In terms of standardization, the fabric has to be 100 per cent polyester fabric because of the strength requirement of the automotive industry for seats.
So, design and colour are the only areas where we can innovate and work around with different patterns and give the bus body builders choice to differentiate their offering.” he added.
ATS assures customers value for money and a one-stop solution with all types of fabrics for their seating fabric requirements. Notable among them are the Rexene (PVC/PU), Flat woven laminated jacquard (Sparkle/Tranjo), Dobby Velvet (Woven pile with small patterns) and Velvet Jacquard (Circular Knit pile laminated).
One innovative product is the digital print. “In digital print the possibilities are endless and we can have any design that a customer may have as an image and this can be translated on to the fabric. Innovative designs like cartoons on school bus seats can attract customers and fun element for the kids going to school,” added Mr. Sharma.
“We have been able to cater to the needs of various customers across the length & breadth of the country. Owing to our ARAI-approved fabrics and ability to design as per customer requirements we have so far done over 40,000 seats in the last two years which would translate to around 900 buses,” revealed the Director.
To expand its reach pan-India, the company plans to form a network of dealers to cater to more bus body builders in the open arena while catering to the OEMs directly.
