Atul Auto retains grip on three-wheeler market

Atul Auto Ltd., a leading three-wheeler manufacturing company, has recorded sales of 14,419 units in six months (April to September 2012) against 12,377 units in the same period of 2011.

The company sales of the first two quarters of this year have registered a growth of 16 per cent as compared to the sales of the same two quarters last year.

The performance of Atul Auto, which is consistently improving for the last two financial years, has retained its grip on sales at the end of the first two quarters of the current financial year too.

Commenting on the sales performance, Mr. Vijay Kedia, Director, Atul Auto Ltd., said: “Though the last 2 quarters were down for the commercial vehicles sector as a whole, Atul Auto has recorded a sales growth of 16%.

We are expecting similar growth in the coming quarters.”

The company had allotted 36,57,200 equity shares of Rs. 10 each fully paid as bonus shares in July last in the ratio of one share for every two shares held. It had also distributed dividend of 50 per cent (Rs. 5 per share) for 2011-12.

With its manufacturing facility at Rajkot, Atul Auto is producing different models in the passenger and load carrier categories. In the load category, it has customized for chicken carriers, soft drink carriers, tippers, mobile shops, water carriers, etc. The passenger carriers have extra comfort and legroom for passengers.

Apart from it, Atul manufactures, markets and exports both cargo and passenger three-wheelers under the brand name “Atul Shakti”. More than 250,000 Atul vehicles are on the Indian as well as foreign roads with commendable success, both in terms of workmanship and after-sales service through the well-spread dealer network operating in 16 States in India.
