Themed ‘Technovation – Discover Innovations for Future’, the expo will showcase the latest advancements in BS-VI & emissions, safety, and e-mobility with over 1,500 companies including international exhibitors from 20 countries and over 1,00,000 business visitors expected
The 15th edition of Auto Expo 2020 Components has received overwhelming response from suppliers despite the slowdown that has plagued the auto industry since last year. Jointly organized by the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association (ACMA), the apex body of the Indian auto component industry, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), the event will be themed ‘Technovation – Discover Innovations for Future’. On display will be the latest technology and innovations in the spheres of BS-VI & emissions, safety, e-mobility, start-ups, among others.
Scheduled from February 6 to 9 at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi, the Auto Expo 2020 – Components will take a lead on advanced solutions, with a wide range of products across different segments. Over 1,500 companies will exhibit their products and solutions with 400 international exhibitors from 20 countries, with a total expected footfall of 1,00,000 plus business visitors.
Spread across 56,000 sq. m., the four-day event will showcase special pavilions on Future Mobility, Bearings and Garage Equipment. A distinct pavilion reflecting the theme of the event ‘Technovation’ will focus on start-ups, EV components and innovations. That apart, the State of Andhra Pradesh will display its investment attractiveness in a special pavilion.
Commenting on the upcoming Expo, Deepak Jain, ACMA President, said: “This year’s theme, ‘Technovation: Discover Innovations for Future’ has been adopted to steer the industry forward, instil a positive sentiment, showcase the best technological prowess while providing more opportunities for growth. Besides showcasing traditional components, the expo will give companies an opportunity to highlight their preparedness for future mobility. We are therefore looking forward to this edition which will be monumental in shaping the future trajectory of the industry by focussing on our collective strength and capabilities.”
Elaborating further on the Expo, Vinnie Mehta, Director General, ACMA, said: “We all are excited at the prospects of Auto Expo 2020 – Components as it brings the spotlight on advanced technologies in the auto component space. Despite the fact that the industry is facing challenges due to a prolonged slowdown, we are glad that we have 25 per cent more exhibitors than the previous edition. It clearly reflects the resilience and determination of the auto components industry. Our members recognise the importance of this platform as it holds the key to future opportunities and the industry’s brand equity.”
The expo is slated to be one of the biggest shows of the year and will have several value-added conferences and discussions on pertinent subjects. While the leadership teams from most OEMs have confirmed to visit the event, ACMA will also host a special forum which will bring together IPOs of various international OEMs, facilitating exports and forging international relationships.
Currently, the turnover of the Indian auto component industry stands at $57 billion, contributing 2.3% to the country’s GDP. It is expected that the sector will contribute around $200 billion to the GDP by 2025, playing a significant role in achieving the $5 trillion economy target as envisioned by the Government.
