The biennial automotive show, scheduled for February 7-12, will set the tone in sync with the industry’s vision of moving towards clean and green mobility
Auto Expo, a much-awaited event that is a true representation of India’s automotive industry, will be held from February 7-12, 2020 at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida. The inauguration ceremony of Auto Expo 2020 will be held on February 6. Titled ‘Auto Expo – The Motor Show’, the event has been a launch pad for some of the key brands marking their India entry or global launch and unveiling of some of the key products by the existing brands. The theme of the forthcoming edition is ‘Explore the World of Mobility’, which resonates the message of technology, capability and vision of mobility for tomorrow – safer, cleaner, connected, bespoke and shared.
For the visitors, it will be an experience of the mobility eco-system that is unfolding every day and offering better solutions for all our requirements. Auto Expo 2020 will feature new emission technology and safety standards under one roof. The show will not just be a futuristic perspective of the evolutionary paradigm in the Indian automotive industry but also would manifest the Indian automotive industry’s preparedness to adopt to the BS VI norms. The edition will witness the biggest line-up of BS VI vehicles much ahead of the government’s specified deadline.
The expo will also witness many first time and new entrants and also welcome those who are making a comeback after a hiatus. The expo will also witness participation from many start-ups, showcasing their path-breaking technology in terms of green mobility and futuristic technology.
Speaking about the show, Rajan Wadhera, President, SIAM, and President – Automotive Sector, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., said: “The automotive industry is putting its best foot forward to match the aspirations of the nation and this edition of the expo will bring to fore the futuristic trends and practicality towards encompassing a multitude of facets of mobility, especially the underlying focus on electric mobility, technology infusion and safety.”
“In fact, this edition of the expo would give a new dimension and feel to the visitors and enable them to explore the world of mobility through a world-class technology-enabled experience for the automotive lovers,” he added. “Auto Expo 2020 will not just focus on static display but would provide a truly unique and enriching experience for all the stakeholders and every segment of society at large. The automobile industry is an embodiment of inclusiveness and richness through our diversity of peoples, cultures, technologies, processes, thoughts and engagements,” a press release stated.
Also, this expo will see six ‘special’ days, with each day exploring a specific aspect of the world of mobility – Enterprise Day, Goodwill Day, Family Day, Women Power Day, Green Day and Driving Experience Day. The show will also have new timings: February 7 being Enterprise Day, the show will commence from 11 am and close by 7 pm. Whereas, during public days from February 8-12, the show timings will be from 11 am to 8 pm. The expo will be spread over a total ground area of 235,000 sq. metres with key automobile majors participating in indoor built-up area of 51,000 sq. metres.
