The Society for Indian Automobile Manufactures (SIAM) has announced that the entire floor space at Auto Expo 2016 has been sold out despite having more than 7,000 sq. mts. extra space than last year. Jointly organized by SIAM, the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA) and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the Motor Show will be held at India Exposition Mart Ltd. in February 2016.
It is a comprehensive show with OEMs participating across segments to showcase cars, MUVs/SUVs, two-wheelers, three-wheelers, special vehicles, concept vehicles, commercial vehicles (trucks & buses), vintage cars, super cars and bikes, etc. Tires and tubes, as well as oil companies, automotive design and technology, engineering and IT for automobile companies, financial institutions, auto insurance companies, etc., will also be join it in a big way.
Announcing the development for Auto Expo, Mr. Vishnu Mathur, SIAM Director General, said: “We are delighted to have successfully sold out the space for the upcoming Motor Show. The event has been giving unique opportunities to both indigenous and international vehicle manufacturers to put forth their upcoming products and technologies on a global platform. This time we expect the show to become bigger, better and more exciting.”
The total indoor exhibition area has increased from around 42,000 sq.m. in 2014 to over 50,000 sq.m. in 2016, which is almost a 20 per cent growth. In the 2016 edition, there will be more than 40 vehicle manufacturers, including passenger and commercial vehicle producers. More than 18 two- & three-wheeler manufacturers will display their vehicles, including electric models.
