The expo witnessed the largest-ever domestic participation compared to previous editions, with 600+ exhibitors from 26 countries and attracted 41,000+ trade visitors from 83 countries

The sixth edition of bauma CONEXPO INDIA closed on a high note with the launch of 25+ electric and hybrid heavy machines, 10,000+ product displays, insightful conferences and technical sessions, and an exciting line-up of next-generation technologies at the live demo areas. This trade fair was graced by the presence of key policymakers from the government and captains of industry. During his inaugural address, Nitin J Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India, said, “Electric, hybrid and biofuel-compatible machinery holds great potential to reduce the fossil fuel dependence of the construction equipment industry and improve productivity and cost efficiency outcomes for the infrastructure development and construction industries. Hence, I am delighted to see the new technology displays at this trade fair and extend my best wishes to the organisers and all participants.”

The inauguration ceremony also featured a special address on behalf of the host state Uttar Pradesh, delivered by Nand Gopal Gupta, Cabinet Minister (Industrial Development, Export Promotion, NRI, Investment Promotion), Government of Uttar Pradesh. He said, “We will soon become the only state in India with the largest number of six-lane expressways, and therefore, I am delighted that this edition of bauma CONEXPO INDIA is being held in Uttar Pradesh. By attracting large investments in industry and infrastructure over the past few years, Uttar Pradesh has demonstrated manufacturing excellence. Hence, I welcome all your contributions towards nation-building in our state and across India.”

One of the key highlights of this edition was the largest-ever domestic participation compared to previous editions, demonstrating the construction equipment (CE) industry’s commitment towards ‘Make in India’. This edition saw participation from 601 exhibitors from 26 countries, 60+ CEOs of leading infrastructure development companies and 41,108 trade visitors from 83 countries. Arvind Garg, Chairman, bauma CONEXPO INDIA and Senior Vice President and Head (Construction and Mining Machinery Business), Larsen and Toubro Limited, said, “Infrastructure development in India is on an accelerated growth path, and we are proud to serve the market with best-in-class latest technologies which enable timely project completion and better outcomes for all stakeholders. In addition to many specialised technical sessions on skill building, operator training and certification, this edition also witnessed a power-packed presentation by Lt. General Rajeev Chaudhry, VSM, Director General, Border Road Organisation (BRO), on potential areas of collaboration with equipment manufacturers in the interest of nation building. This edition was jointly organised by the Builders Association of India (BAI) along with the association partner Indian Construction Equipment Manufacturers’ Association (ICEMA). Some of the leading industry associations that supported bauma CONEXPO INDIA 2023 were National Real Estate Development Council (NAREDCO), Construction Equipment Rental Association (CERA), Crane Owners Association of India (COAOI) and Aerial Platform Association of India (APAOI), along with Federation of Contractors’ Associations of Nepal (FCAN), American Concrete Institute, and many more.

About the launch of electric and hybrid-powered equipment at bauma CONEXPO INDIA 2023, Dimitrov Krishnan, President, Indian Construction Equipment Manufacturers’ Association (ICEMA) and Managing Director, Volvo CE India, said, “The main highlight of this show has been the strong interest in sustainable technologies and manufacturers’ initiatives to cater to this surging demand through innovative product launches.” Speaking about the curated programs at bauma CONEXPO INDIA, Niimesh Patel, President, Builders Association of India (BAI), said, “The construction equipment industry contributes towards nation-building by supporting project contractors and contracting companies to execute and deliver infrastructure projects on time.
