bauma CONEXPO INDIA postponed to April 2021

The organizers hope rescheduling the exhibition will enable them to provide a safer environment for exhibitors, visitors and other stakeholders

Bauma CONEXPO INDIA, the international trade fair for construction machinery, building material machines, mining machines and construction vehicles, will now take place from April 20 to 23, 2021 at the India Expo Centre (IEC), Greater Noida, Delhi NCR. Making this announcement, Bhupinder Singh, CEO, BC Expo India (P) Ltd., said, “After careful considerations of the pandemic situation and crucial discussions with the industry, we are postponing bauma CONEXPO INDIA to April 2021. The gradual upturn of the market leaves us confident that the industry will find even more favourable conditions for doing business at the new dates.”

“Plus, rescheduling the exhibition will enable us to provide a safer environment for our exhibitors, stakeholders and visitors as their safety is our topmost priority,” he added. Extending his support, yet again, Gen (Dr.) Vijay Kumar Singh, Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways, Government of India, said, “These are testing times and it is crucial that we address the challenges posed by the economic downturn caused by the pandemic. We are certain that a trade fair like bauma CONEXPO will help bring businesses together, work as a driver for business and subsequently drive infrastructure growth. We look forward to this gathering of the industry in April 2021.”

The decision was supported by Arvind Garg, Chairman, bauma CONEXPO INDIA – Task Force and Executive Vice President and Head (Construction and Mining Machinery Business) at Larsen and Toubro Ltd. Garg, said: “As the industry is witnessing a gradual recovery, the decision to postpone the event comes at an appropriate time. To ensure a safer environment for participants we have moved the show to India Expo Centre. Along with providing top facilities and an excellent infrastructure, bauma CONEXPO INDIA is all set to cater to the industry’s needs. We wish to affirm that all government directives and norms will be followed stringently to provide a safe experience that the participants expect and deserve.”

Sandeep Singh, President, Indian Construction Equipment Manufacturers Association (iCEMA) and Managing Director, Tata Hitachi Construction Machinery Company (P) Ltd., supported BC Expo India (P) Ltd.’s decision and stated, “The market is steadily recuperating as it comes to grips with the adverse effects of the pandemic on the growth trajectory. After considerable discussions with iCEMA committee members, we suggested that the show get postponed. At a time when the industry’s mood is gradually lifting, the decision to postpone the trade fair is a good call as it will give the Indian industry time to monitor the pandemic situation and the accompanying government norms carefully in the coming months.”

Backing the decision, Mu Moahan, President, Builders Association of India (BAI), said, “The rescheduling will come with its own benefits as the industry is recovering from the deadly grip of the corona virus pandemic. We are certain that with the travel restrictions relaxed, more exhibitors and visitors will be able to take part in the exhibition. The postponement is more welcome as BAI National Members Meet can be planned alongside bauma CONEXPO INDIA 2021 with maximum participation from across India. On the same note, Bhupinder Singh said, “The decision comes after the thorough consideration of market assessments and consultations with the key stakeholders. We feel it is in the best interest of our exhibitors and visitors.”
