Rajesh Rajgor had the opportunity to interact with Rajaram K, Vice President (Marketing, Sales, and Customer Service), BharatBenz about the company’s important products showcased at Bauma Conexpo India 2023 and its dedication to meeting client needs in order to maintain its position at the top
BharatBenz, known for its trucks and buses, offers a wide range of tipper products starting from the six-wheeler 13 tonne medium duty trucks to 22-wheeler 55 tonne trucks (tip trailers) and has now added the 3532 CM mining tipper, 2832 CM mining tipper and 5532 CM tipper to their product line-up for the construction and mining sectors. These trucks are used in extensive applications including surface construction, mining, irrigation and tunnelling and intra-city distribution. BharatBenz’s new generation products are transforming the RMC (ready mix cement) application with engine-driven PTO solutions suiting every concreting requirement.
Commenting on this new development, Rajaram K, Vice President (Marketing, Sales and Customer Service), BharatBenz, said, “We have proved our dominance in the heavy-duty truck segments, especially in the construction and mining sectors. Our product range is designed to contribute towards nation-building and has been the key to several infrastructure-related projects across India. In mining, BharatBenz has the best-in-class fuel efficiency and best uptime of over 90 per cent for the first five years of operation with highly durable powertrain and aggregates.
”About their dedication to serving the demands of the customer, he continued, “We have helped our customers finish more than 145 mining projects on time or ahead of schedule and we have 60 locations that are actively being monitored through our dealer partners. The longest-running BharatBenz mining vehicle has logged more than 37,000 hours and is still going strong, and it certainly makes us feel proud. This market is probably responsible for over 35 per cent of the entire heavy-duty market, and we are confident that our new BharatBenz tipper truck will revolutionise the mining sector.”
Technology and Performance
BharatBenz also has the 4828 RT truck in its portfolio which offers best-in-class fuel efficiency, increased productivity, easy manoeuvrability and the signature BharatBenz ‘comfort’. Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV) has brought in several innovations in the 4828 RT with intel-lift, single chamber headlamp with daytime running lights and parabolic bogie suspension with bolsters in the rear. The 4828 RT model can be used for surface construction like blue metal, coal, fly ash, sand and other construction materials.
“When it comes to trucking, we are well-respected and we introduce innovative new technology that functions like nothing else. Our new vehicle line-up includes technologies that set the segment benchmark, such as intel-lift, hill holder, parabolic bogie suspension with rear bolsters, and more. Our design philosophy places safety as a top priority and the new products adhere to the most recent HDT cabin crash requirements, including roll-over protection. This is a significant development in our mission to offer cutting-edge, dependable products to consumers in the Indian market,” Rajaram elaborated.
BharatBenz is now introducing simulated driving trainer (SDT) which would be a one-stop facility having a truck simulator on cab with realistic simulated driving experience, which is equipped with software interfaces on driver training management and e-learning modules. SDT will create a simulation for drivers to practice mining and construction applications and evaluate their skills. SDT is designed to guide them towards effective driving habits for improved performance, cost-saving and overall efficiency. BharatBenz completed 10 years in India in 2022 and has the reputation of being one of the most respected truck brands in the construction and mining industry.
A reason for BharatBenz being a preferred brand in trucks is the ‘uptime’ that its trucks’ range offers to customers, allowing for faster turnaround that helps save logistical costs. In addition to leading the transformation in the Indian CV industry, DICV has also forged strong partnerships in the last decade, establishing over 300 sales and service outlets and partnering with more than 400 suppliers. “We have a very bullish outlook. Wherever they are in India, we can reach our customers in just two hours. Such assurance is no doubt important for the customers. In particular, for the construction industry we offer on-site service. Training is crucial and therefore we are building regional training facilities,” Rajaram said.
