Balkrishna Industries Ltd. (BKT) made good use of the IMME 2018 platform by presenting its extensive range of all-steel radial off-the-road tyres designed to withstand the harshest operating conditions in quarries, mines and construction sites. The company introduced its flagship models ‘SR 48’ and ‘SR 53’ designed for rigid body haul truck and loaders or dozers respectively.
Mr. Ashok P. Chhajer, General Manager – OE Sales, BKT, said that the target audience at IMME are OEMs, public and private mining companies, contractors and other end users involved in mining operations. “Although we are already engaging with almost every one of them either directly or indirectly, our primary objective here is to showcase our flagship range and capabilities and engage them”, he noted.
The company claims that the new Earthmax SR 48 (E-4) delivers enhanced traction and tread wear in severe rocky operations. The SR 53 is also engineered for severe rocky conditions and rigorous scrap handling operations, especially for loaders and dozers. The self-cleaning tyre pattern, extra deep tread, and customized compound deliver extended tread wear and ensure resistance to rock cuts and punctures.
BKT is engaged with all leading equipment makers in the country, with very strong aftermarket reach as well. Exports is perhaps the stronghold for the manufacturer, with almost 82 per cent of its revenue generated through exports to markets including Europe, North America, and Australia. The company said that it is expanding its Earthmax range to accommodate 51-inch and 57-inch models which it plans to launch in the domestic market in the coming years.
