Bosch Automotive Aftermarket’s massive network expansion

Over 125 service units opened in eastern India

Bosch-Muralidharan-picBosch Automotive Aftermarkets (AA) has just announced the launch of over 125 service centres in east India. Simultaneous inauguration of all centres in a single day – 18 outlets in West Bengal, 24 in Guwahati, 30 in Bihar, 33 in Chattisgarh, five in Jharkhand and 17 outlets in Orissa – is part of Bosch AA’s aggressive plans for service network expansion across the country through the service route. Aimed at bridging the large service network gap in the country, this expansion drive is in addition to the recent launch of 100 service centres in north India.

These state-of-the-art service centres will provide service to multi-brand vehicles across different segments of unit repair (fuel injection systems, auto electrical units), and entire vehicular repair.

Reaching out to the needs of the entire automotive spectrum, the service outlets include Bosch Car Service (BCS) for in-depth diagnosis and consequent repair & service of passenger cars, Express Car Service (ECS), regular & quick car service needs of customer, Express Bike Service (EBS) for two-wheelers, Bosch Diesel Service (BDS) representing unit repair workshops for fuel injection equipments, and Electric Module (EM) for auto electrical repair and maintenance.

These service outlets provide the much-needed credible service option beyond the warranty period of the vehicle. Bosch, through its strategy of PARTS (a robust range of genuine vehicle spares), BYTES (vehicle diagnostics) and SERVICES (workshop concept and training), enjoys a dominant presence worldwide offering comprehensive solutions pertaining to automotive systems and vehicle repair. Bosch has 16 training centres countrywide where the workshops have easy access to the latest technology knowhow.

Further, Bosch in India is amongst the largest service network in technical unit repair (fuel injection systems and auto electrical units) and car service space. In addition to over 2,500 workshops, EBS is a recent foray by Bosch into the 2W segment service space.

Immediately after the company announcement, Mr. S. Muralidharan, Regional President (Automotive Aftermarket), Bosch Ltd., observed: “We are extremely bullish on the growth of our business and believe that service as a category has a lot of potential which we can leverage and are hence robustly expanding our network. Through our aggressive expansion plan we wish to fill the vacuum in the automotive service space and hope to continue the momentum in future too.”
