Bosch India adopted a new approach to showcase its products and discuss its latest technological offerings to the Indian and international OEMs at Auto Expo 2014 in Delhi. The company invited its customers to a private venue where they were free to interact with Bosch technology experts.
The company showcased its widest range of products and solutions for powertrains, advanced drive concepts for modern internal combustion engines, innovative safety systems for accident-free driving and intelligent assistance systems that make driving easier and more comfortable.
For clean and economical drive systems which reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions without compromising on smooth engine operation, Bosch has an array of injectors, rails and high-pressure pumps to choose from. Its Common Rail System and the latest generation of exhaust gas after-treatment (EGT) solutions ensure that a suitable system is available for all types of diesel-powered vehicles. Gasoline-fuelled vehicles can now get the perfectly synchronized system technology with Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) and improve drivability and emission compliance.
New ECU concepts with CNG powertrain solutions, improved emission norm compatibility, fuel efficiency and drivability with electronic fuel injection (EFI) for two-wheelers, new baseline generators for different vehicle segments and new generation starter motors were the other highlights of the exposition.
For greater safety, the company is developing and networking new safety systems to pave way for accident-free driving. Active safety systems like antilock braking system (ABS) and electronic stability program (ESP) help drivers manage difficult and potentially dangerous driving situations by avoiding accidents and thus reducing the number of fatalities. Motorcycle Stability Control (MSC) registers the driving dynamics of the machine with an extensive sensor set and ensures maximum brake force in emergency situations.
Bosch is known for its systematic integration of passive (seatbelts and airbags) and active (ABS, ESP) systems with driver assistance systems like predictive emergency braking and driver drowsiness detection, which will make driving safer and more comfortable.
Further, the company offers free upspace under the hood of passenger cars with the ‘no mechanical linkages required’ direct drive wiper systems. With alerts for distances as low as 25 cm and a choice of ultrasonic or camera platform, the Park Manoeuvre Assist (PMA) makes parking as well as the driver’s life a whole lot easier.
The convenience of automatic transmission is brought in to manual transmission in stop-and-go city traffic with the use of E-Clutch. Intuitive operation of vehicle functions, networking of navigation systems, use of internet-based services in the vehicle and easy smartphone integration are a few other ways by which Bosch makes connected vehicles a reality.
