In the commercial sector, for transporters, heavy trucks, buses and trailers, reliability is essential. Every breakdown or unplanned repair leads to downtime and costs money. For this reason, Bosch is constantly expanding its product range and offers customers a comprehensive selection of diagnostics and workshop equipment for the repair and service of commercial vehicles as well as spare parts and services from a single source.
Technical systems in commercial vehicles are becoming ever more diverse and complex. Customers are more demanding and want an answer to their problems as quickly as possible.
Bosch offers the KTS Truck control unit tester with the associated Esitronic Truck software package specifically for the needs of commercial vehicle workshops. This software contains data on over 90 per cent of the transporters, trucks, buses and trailers currently available on the European market.
In addition to control unit diagnosis, the Esitronic Truck software features technical information such as circuit diagrams, service and repair instructions, and system information, as well as spare parts catalogues.
Comprehensive workshop equipment
In addition to control unit diagnostics, the Bosch program covers a wide range of workshop equipment, tailored to specific requirements. Bosch offers state-of-the-art test equipment for chassis analysis, emissions analysis, battery and A/C servicing.
Using vehicle system analysis, components and systems can be systematically tested without having to be removed. The heavyweights on offer are lift platforms for transporters, tire balancing and assembly systems, and brake testing even for heavy trucks.
Bosch also supplies diesel systems as original equipment for all major commercial vehicle manufacturers. The range of spare parts, for current common rail and pump-nozzle systems as well as for classic diesel components, is also correspondingly comprehensive.
Nitrogen oxide emissions (NOx) from diesel motors must generally be reduced to comply with the Euro 5 standard. Therefore Bosch has developed the Denoxtronic exhaust gas after-treatment system for original equipment. For the retrofitting of commercial vehicles, the group offers the Denoxtronic2 retrofit system which reduces nitrogen oxide emissions by up to 90 per cent. The retrofit solution also pays off from an economic point of view, as the Denoxtronic system reduces fuel consumption by up to five per cent and commercial vehicles that comply with the Euro 5 standard also save two cents per km on German freeway tolls.
eXchange Program
With its eXchange parts program, Bosch offers an alternative for the current value-oriented repair of commercial vehicles, at around 30 per cent less than the cost of a new part with the same two-year guarantee. Over 800 remanufactured products are available for diesel injection systems alone; even for modern high-pressure injection systems. Additionally around 350 types of remanufactured starters and alternators are on offer.
Bosch further offers a broad range of spare parts and accessories for commercial vehicles. The parts available range from drive belts and batteries to horns, filters, bulbs, sensors, wipers and auxiliary lights. All Bosch commercial vehicle parts are designed to meet the specific requirements of commercial vehicle use.
Bosch has now expanded the range of spare parts for commercial vehicles to include high-performance ribbed V-belts, which are made from modern types of synthetic rubber and high-tech cords that can withstand extreme stress. They are specifically designed for commercial use in heavy trucks and buses, as well as for high engine performances.
The range for trucks now includes robust products designed to provide better visibility. These products include the Bosch Trucklight Maxilife bulbs, which save time and money, thanks to their longer replacement intervals. The new Rallye 225 Highlight main beam headlamp with die-cast aluminum housing is also designed for an extra-long service life.
Service training courses
In order to prepare associates in commercial vehicle workshops for the requirements of the latest vehicle technology, Bosch offers a wide range of service training courses in Europe, with special training courses for commercial vehicle technology, which are continually expanded. In addition, the Bosch technical hotline specialists provide support for workshops on any difficult technical questions.
Bosch offers a comprehensive “Bosch Commercial Vehicle” workshop concept, aimed at truck workshops. It supports potential partners with its professional commercial vehicles diagnostics and workshop equipment, practical, technical training, technical data, a hotline and remote diagnostics, as well as Bosch spare parts in original equipment quality.
There are no fees for the franchise partnership. Participating workshops also receive a corresponding “Bosch Commercial Vehicle” external sign, indicating the workshop’s truck expertise. The “Bosch Commercial Vehicle” workshop concept is gradually being introduced across Europe.
A network of professional diesel experts are servicing and repairing all diesel components on site. In the Bosch Diesel Centers and Bosch Diesel Services, the company expertise on diesel repairs is bundled. There are around 3,900 of these specialist centers across the globe, including 90 in Germany. All kinds of diesel systems are checked, serviced, repaired and configured by specially trained associates.
