Eicher Trucks and Buses was awarded for the most ‘Innovative and Unique Display’ for its inventive and more original show of its vehicles. Part of Volvo Eicher Commercial Vehicles (VECV), the company showcased the facelifted Eicher 3009L Skyline Pro Staff AC bus and Eicher 20.15R 12m bus chassis at the show.
The refreshed front fascia that donned the Pro 3009L AC bus will be extended to the Skyline Pro bus range. The display vehicle was customized with luxurious Harita Magnum Push back seats with 3-point ELR seat belt, in 2×1 seating configuration and air suspension for added comfort.
The bus chassis, on the other hand, is a unique offering from the OEM and tailor-made for inter-city applications. It comes equipped with an AC compressor and two alternators of 120 Amperes each, making the body-building process faster and less expensive. Some of the features further enhance uptime of the bus, such as a 425-litre fuel tank, eliminating the need for en-route fuelling stops. The robust DOMEX chassis delivers extremely high strength and durability, while tilt and telescopic power steering, 6 speed overdrive gearbox and air suspensions ensure a safe and comfortable ride.
The bus is claimed to offer best-in-class fuel efficiency with the use of the Volvo Group engine management system EMS 3.0, coupled with new-generation features such as cruise control and real-time fuel coaching where the driver is continuously guided in most effective driving. According to Eicher, these buses have been designed on the concept of “Smart Journeys that offer Smart Design, Smart technologies, Smart features” for safer and sustainable mobility across India.
