Busworld Kortrijk marks the global unveiling of the Volvo 7900 Electric, Volvo Buses’ first mass-produced city bus powered exclusively by electricity. Quiet and emission free, the model is around 80 per cent more energy-efficient than a conventional diesel bus.
At Busworld in Kortrijk, Spheros will be exhibiting the most efficient air-conditioning system currently on the market for hybrid and electric buses. It incorporates innovative air-conditioning components, re-engineered software that intelligently regulates the HVAC components with the highest level of efficiency, and the “Spheros Body Interface” operating and control concept. This offers for the first time an interface for analysis values and system feedback.
In addition, there are further premieres to be celebrated at the trade fair: besides the REVO-E Global, a new aluminium front box and roof hatch generation, the first self-sufficient battery cooling from Spheros, will be on display.
MAN will be represented with its comprehensive bus expertise at Busworld 2015. Whether it is a luxury coach with a bistro upgrade or an application-optimised city bus and inter-city bus – individuality, innovation and interactivity are reflected in the MAN product range – featuring a wealth of innovations. The key topics will be fuel efficiency and safety.
Continental’s new generation 3 bus tires offer an ideal solution for every season, across a range of applications, from city to regional, to long-haul buses at the Busworld stand.
Also on the Continental stand, Continental Truck & Bus Tires will be presenting the Conti CityPlus HA3 295/80 R 22.5. Its distinctive longitudinal grooves provide excellent handling and wet grip properties over its entire life, making it the ideal all-round tire for regional passenger services and charter services to tourist destinations.
Thermo King, a manufacturer of transport temperature control solutions for a variety of mobile applications and a brand of Ingersoll Rand, will demonstrate industry-leading, sustainability and customer-driven solutions at Busworld Kortrijk 2015.
The company will highlight its latest developments in the heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) solutions designed for all types of buses with a specific focus on hybrid and electric buses.
The exhibition will include a new heat pump concept that offers a high coefficient of performance (COP) ratio and reduces energy waste by reusing the energy and heat coming from various sources in the bus.
At the show, Thermo King will also address the OEMs’ and bodybuilders’ needs for software and hardware flexibility and showcase product customization capabilities that allow adaptation of the units’ elements, controls and communication protocols.
With 80 years of experience and innovation. Bitzer, the world’s largest independent manufacturer of refrigeration compressors, is presenting its new SPEEDLITE scroll compressors for mobile applications at Busworld Kortrijk.
The company driving innovation in the refrigeration and air-conditioning sector will present two new series of scroll compressors. One special feature is that the ELV21 and the ELV51 are significantly more compact and lightweight while providing at least as much or even more performance than the previous models. At the same time, they offer outstanding efficiency and versatility. This is made possible by their modern aluminium design and the ideal combination of scroll spiral, electric motor and frequency inverter. All the three components have now been brought together in one compact system.
The air-conditioning expert partner Eberspacher Suetrak will present integral solutions for sustainable and efficient thermal management for electic and hybrid buses at Busworld. As a world debut, the company is showing its pioneering AC 230, a roof-top air-conditioning system with innovative heat pump which works on the air flow reversal functional principle.
