A well-deserved honour for professionalism
Mr. Chella K. Srinivasan, a noted chartered accountant from Chennai, took over as the National President of the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (IACC) at the conclusion of the 44th annual general meeting of the Chamber held in Mumbai recently.
Mr. Srinivasan is a partner of S. Viswanathan Chartered Accountants, a firm with more than 80 years of standing, having offices in Chennai, Bangalore and Coimbatore. He is on the Board of Directors of Dhanlaxmi Bank Ltd. and was a member of the Vision Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
Mr. Srinivasan is taking over as the President of IACC at a time when the Indo-US bilateral partnership is taking a new form, shape and direction. “The US economy is slowly coming out of the long phase of slowdown. As India’s largest trading and investment partner, the US has a large stake in the sustained growth of India. As partners in progress, both economies have great sync and complementarities. Our effort at IACC will be to consolidate the growing partnership through healthy track-two economic dialogues. The Indo-US Resurgence Summit to be held in New Delhi in the first week of December will attempt to flag-mark some of the newer vistas of co-operation between the two countries,” says Mr. Srinivasan.
It may be recalled that as the Chairman of the IACC-Tamil Nadu Chapter, Mr. Srinivasan initiated the publication of Indian Commercial & Trade News to promote Indian products and services in the US market. He also carved out a niche for the services industry in the business dialogue between the two countries by focusing on education, insurance, banks and hospitality sectors.
