The Ministry of Commerce in China will hold the seventh annual China International Auto Parts Expo (CIAPE) in Beijing from September 13 to 15, which is expected to attract 2,000 exhibitors from over 40 countries, including the US, Canada, Germany, France, Japan and Korea, and 60,000 visitors from 100 countries. India was the Partner Country for CIAPE 2012 with an official delegation from the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, a food and fashion show and the big India Pavilion.
The Chinese Ministry is very strict in selecting participating companies from China. It selects auto parts manufacturers only from the 12 State-approved production bases of automobile and auto parts industries in the country – Changchun, Chongqing, Taizhou, Shanghai, Wuhan, Xiamen, Wuhu, Tianjin, Hefei, Guangzhou, Baoding, Liuzhou – each occupying more than 1,000 sq. metres of show space. Only those auto parts manufacturers with an annual domestic sales volume of more than 10 million Chinese yuan RMB or an export volume of more than $1 million are eligible to participate in the exhibition.
