Aeolus Tyre Co. Ltd. is a leading Chinese tyre manufacturer based in Jiaozuo, China. Established in 1965, the company’s main products include off-the-road (OTR) tyres, radial OTR tyres, truck & bus radial tyres, light truck radial tyres, truck & bus bias tyres, military tyres and industry tyres under the ‘Henan’ and ‘Aeolus’ brands.
Among the 20 largest tyre manufacturers globally, Aeolus has the largest capacity for OTR tyres in China, while it is among the top three TBR tyre manufacturers in the country. It is also the No.1 Chinese manufacturer of green tyres using environmental friendly raw materials. The Chinese major which has supplied to Indian vehicle manufacturers in the past is looking to make a re-entry into the market through agents who could market its products in the country.
“We are the market leader in OTR tyres and are among the top three in the TBR tyre market in China. We have two manufacturing facilities in the country and are planning to set up one in South-East Asia. With our range of tyres exported to around 140 countries across the globe, we are aiming to become one of the top 10 tyre manufacturers in the world”, said Mr. Guo Shuangxing (Ali), Director – International Marketing & Sales, Aeolus Tyre Co. Ltd., in an informal chat with MOTORINDIA on the sidelines of a recent trade show in Chennai.
Asked about Aeolus’ plans for the Indian market, Mr. Shuangxing says: “India is a high potential market for us. We do not sell our products based on pricing; we always believe in providing solutions and forming long-term relationships with our customers. At present, we are looking to partner with agents to sell our products in India.”
Aeolus caters to nearly 90 per cent of the requirement of globally-renowned Chinese heavy truck maker Dongfeng and also supplies to Sinotruk in China. The company’s tyres are suitable for various applications such as trucks, light trucks, deep loaders and semi-trailers, for both drive axles and steering axles. The tyres offer long distance profiles, profiles for regional use and those for on- and off-road use. Modern profile markings on the tyre make the choice much easier. A few sizes and profiles are ideal for re-profiling and tread renewal, i.e., new and renewed tyres can be used in combination to extend the life span and improve performance.
With nearly five decades of experience in the Chinese market, Aeolus has developed expertise in a wide range of sectors, including the introduction of a new series of tyres for the agricultural sector. The company has also developed tyres for city buses, refuse trucks and vehicles for cleaning services so as to be able to withstand the rigorous challenges posed by urban traffic.
