A 50:50 joint venture between the Angelantoni Test Technologies Group (ATT) of Italy and CM Envirosystems of Bangalore was announced at a function held in Chennai recently. The ATT Group comprising ACS of Italy, BIA of France and TIRA of Germany is in India to bring European technology to the doorstep of its Indian customers backed with the expertise of CME known for its environmental simulation technologies.
In his welcome address at the function, Mr. J. Crasta, Chairman, CM Envirosystems, spoke about his company’s recent venture and its vision and mission. He said: “We started as a small industry in 1981 for manufacturing laboratory equipments and later extended our manufacturing line to environmental test chambers in 2001. In 2008, we built our present facility spread over an area of 18,500 sq.m., a state-of-the-art plant, keeping in mind the exponential growth of the organisation. By 2009-13 we expanded its operations globally to over 13 countries by establishing channel partners and joint ventures for serving potential markets globally”.
The environmental simulation products from CME are very well accepted in export markets. Designed specifically at its R&D centre in Bangalore, its product portfolio consists of testing equipments like climatic chamber, corrosion test chambers, thermal shock chamber, bench top chamber, rain test chamber, dust and walk-in chambers and so on. The company vision is to become one among the top five environmental test equipment manufacturers in the world.
CM Envirosystems caters to its globally renowned customers like Rane, Godrej, Bosch, Toyota, Wipro, Wabco, Asian Paints, IFB, John Deere, etc., Mr. Crasta added.
Later, interacting with R. Natarajan, Managing Editor & Publisher, MOTORINDIA, Mr. Mauro Margherita, Managing Director, Environmental Test Chambers, ATT, Italy, explained the group’s new venture in the Indian market and its world-class testing solutions.
He said: “ATT India is the most important company of the ATT Group. We are involved in providing testing solutions for our Indian customers in automotive, military and aerospace field. With our holding company based in New Delhi, we have offices in Bangalore, Chennai and Pune. In India, we plan to locally produce environmental test chambers with the guidance of our partner CM Envirosystems (CME) based in Bangalore. We have 70 people working for us in India at present.”
The Angelantoni Group is in India since early 1990s. Over the years, it has grown stronger and keeps serving customers in India with the latest technology.
The CME-ATT joint venture has been set up to take advantage of the two partners’ individual strength. “The synergy between the companies created by the formation of ATT India is a win-win situation for both. We will be fully operative soon with all necessary formalities to import products,” Mr. Margherita stated.
The collaboration between the two companies is expected to provide customers with improved access to quality products, cost-effective solutions and the vast international technical expertise of the ATT Group.
ATT will provide its standard technology with its qualified team for both pre- and after-sales activities.
With the creation and transfer of knowledge between the partners being the prime focus, the Italian major does not rule out any integration of its products in the future.
ATT also has a JV project with Zundar, a well-established player in the automotive field, in China.
