Referring to India, an emerging global destination for most of the European manufacturers, he said Comau too has its focus on this growing market. “In India we have an assembling plant in Pune. We sold over 20 systems last year in the country. We are trying for cost-effective new solutions that can be promoted outside India. We have a strong team in the country which we consider very important for our future. I am particularly glad to say that Maruti Suzuki is among the major customers for Comau products in India”.
The European premiere of the new Comau robot RACER 7 – 1.4, the fastest robot in the world in its class, designed and manufactured with the latest technology, was the highlight of the company’s presentations at Automatica 2014. The robot is ideal for applications where speed and accuracy are the key requirements.
Comau also displayed its spot-welding machine, an exclusive technology with hollow wrist robots and integrated welding gun, as well as the accumulating pallet conveyor (APC) system and an innovative and versatile robotic milling system with which the Smart NJ 370 – 2.7 will realize mock-ups supported by a Comau turntable.
