Commercial Vehicle Fair in Chennai debuts in a big way

The International Commercial Vehicle Fair (TICVF) organised by EDGE Shows in Chennai during October 4-6 not only evoked good CV-Fair-pic-1response from companies but exceeded all expectations. This first-ever automotive fair dedicated to the commercial vehicle segment attracted almost every player in the commercial vehicle industry, including Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland, VECV, AMW, SML-Isuzu, Valvoline Cummins, Michelin Tyres, MRF, CEAT, JK, Roots, Kalyani Hayes, BPCL, HPCL, IOC and Shell. There were also a number of overseas participants keenly interested in tapping India’s fastest growing commercial vehicle business.

The success of the show is undoubtedly attributed to the sincere and timely efforts put in by the organisers who had earlier made an exhaustive visitors campaign across southern India with a view to attracting a large number of visitors from different lorry and bus owners associations.

The show was inaugurated by Mr. Bal Malkit Singh, President, AIMTC, New Delhi, in the presence of Mr. N.P. Velu, Vice President, AIMTC (SZ), Mr. Gopal Naidu, President, SIMTA, and Mr. G.R. Shanmugappa, President, Federation of Karnataka State Lorry Owners & Agents Association, apart from many other distinguished guests.

TICVF’s main objective was to render itself as the foremost neutral platform for showcasing the most comprehensive range of commercial vehicles, equipment, components, accessories and the latest trends in technology to the vibrant and diverse cross-section of users, fleet operators and decision makers from the public transportation and freight carrying industry in India and abroad.

TICVF facilitated identification of technological solutions by the transport industry to meet the challenges and align itself with the transformation taking place all around. It offered exhibitors exposure to new markets and key decision makers in the local and global markets.

Rapid urbanization, improving road infrastructure and regulatory policies in India will greatly influence commercial vehicle buyers and OEMs in the coming years. Official sources claim that India is the fourth largest commercial vehicle market worldwide and the market size is expected to double in the next five years.
