Affirming “complete mining solutions” for the domestic industry, LiuGong India made its presence felt at the 14th edition of IMME this year with a vibrant display of its robust products. The company showcased its latest variants of wheel loaders, excavators, and tracked dozers applicable for various mining operations.
The two debut products of the OEM that warranted all the attraction at the expo were ‘CLG 950E’, an all-new 50-ton class tracked excavator with bucket capacity of 3.2 m³ and 7-ton class wheel loader ‘870H’ with a bucket capacity of 6.5 m³. Both the products are powered by Cummins-sourced powertrains and hydraulic systems from Kawasaki.
Mr. Nischal Mehrotra, Director (Sales and Service), said that the company was using the expo to promote LiuGong as manufacturer of world-class mining equipment. “We are a prominent player in wheel loader segment, but now we wanted to reintroduce ourselves to our existing and new customers with our full range of excavators”, he observed when asked on his company’s key objectives at IMME.
“With the government and industry trying to promote mining activities in the country, coal mining in particular, there exists a buoyancy in demand for higher capacity equipment in the domestic market. Hence the new products, to tap the emerging demand for efficient and reliable machines”, he continued. Both the debut products are precisely targeted at coal mining operations, he added. LiuGong’s tracked bulldozer is also designed specifically for mining sites, with enhanced 230 hp power generated by Cummins engine.
Asked on the company’s sales and service reach in the Eastern region, Mr. Mehrotra replied that the tri-State region comprising Odisha, West Bengal, and Jharkhand is well tapped with three dealers and 11 touch points. “We have good presence in the mining-rich region. For instance, we have about 60 per cent market share in the application of wagon loading of mined coal in the state of Odisha with the popularity of LiuGong’s 5-ton class of wheel loaders”, he claimed.
At the expo, the company also displayed its ‘Made in India’ 922D HD excavator launched last year, along with its 856H 5-ton class wheel loader. The company’s wheel loaders are also manufactured locally at the company’s Pithampur (MP) plant.
