The Commercial Vehicle Group (CVG), headquartered in New Albany, Ohio, with operations throughout North America, Europe and Asia, is a leading supplier of fully integrated system solutions for the global commercial vehicle market, covering heavy-duty trucks, construction, agriculture, speciality and military transportation markets. Its product portfolio includes suspension seat systems, interior trim systems such as instrument and door panels, headliners, molded products, cabinetry and floor systems, cab structures and components, mirrors, wiper systems, electronic wiring harness assemblies and controls and switches specifically designed for applications in commercial vehicle cabs.
Talking to R. Natarajan of MOTORINDIA at the IAA Hannover Fair about his company’s Indian business, Mr. Patrick Miller, President, Global Truck and Bus, CVG, said: “We are global solution providers for all major OEMs in the commercial vehicle segment. Our company has three facilities in India and see a lot of growth opportunities in the country. The Indian market continues to move its vehicles in an upward fashion with much more content and technical capability. We have growing business with domestic OEMs, which is very important to us because they understand the market and guide us in our path to development.”
Basically, CVG Seating (India) Private Ltd. has expanded its footprint in India by acquiring Vijayjyot Seats Private Ltd., a couple of years ago. Today, it has 90 per cent stake in the company, and supplies seats primarily for the passenger, school and coach bus markets in India to leading customers like Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland, VECV, etc.
“We have seat testing capabilities in China, the UK and the US. Our next investment in this area will be in India. Within the next 12 months, we will be installing equipments and testing infrastructure in the country”, added Mr. Miller.
