DATIK, specializing in transport management solutions, introduced several innovative products at the International Bus and Coach Trade Fair 2012 in Madrid.
The company is committed to aid the fleet management of operators by keeping them updated about their fleet at any given time through centralized applications, including traditional vehicle monitoring as well as driver fatigue and distraction warnings. This enables operators to prevent accidents by taking timely steps.
The technology firm offers three products, namely, MagicEye, iPanel, and iPlan.
MagicEye is a safety system that has been specifically designed for buses and industrial vehicles. It detects pedestrians, cyclists and motorbikes, vehicles (both stationary and moving), speed limits, involuntary lane changes, and driver fatigue and distraction.
It warns the driver through seat vibrations or light signals. The device makes it possible to offer safer, more reliable and higher quality transport. It is perfectly integrated with the vehicle’s interior design and warns only the driver without creating a feeling of insecurity among passengers.
iPanel is an information hub that offers added value to the transport operator when managing the data generated by the fleet. It enables the key performance indicators (KPIs) to be monitored and controlled so as to reach a level of excellence in transport management. iPanel improves the quality of service, controlling and monitoring the key business indicators. It can be integrated with the company’s existing systems and helps optimize and continually improve the monitored fleet’s safety and security.
iPlan is a timetable, driver and vehicle planner in passenger transport companies. It enables the transport planning processes to be automated and optimum use made of resources. Optimisation of drivers’ hours takes into account the restrictions imposed under labour agreements. In the case of vehicles, this optimisation takes into account the number of maintenance stops that are expected over time. The system-based planning process with iPlan is one step forward in the pursuit of transport management excellence.
DATIK was founded in 2008 under the name ‘Innovate And Transport’ by two entrepreneurs, Mr. Iñigo Etxabe and Mr. Iñigo Odriozola, with the idea of commercializing the results of several research studies within the field of rail transport management. In May 2011, the company moved on to form part of the renowned Irizar Group and took on its current name.
