The Auto Division of RSB Transmissions (I) Ltd., the flagship company of the RSB Group, with manufacturing plants in Pune, Jamshedpur and Uttarakhand, was conferred the Deming Prize, one of the highest awards in TQM in the world, by JUSE, the Union of Japanese Scientists & Engineers, at Tokyo on November 13.
Mr. RK Behera, Chairman, RSB Group, received the coveted prize from Mr. Masahiro Sakane, Vice Chairman, Deming Prize Committee, JUSE, at a glittering function held at the Keidnanren Hall, Tokyo. Mr. M. Sankaranarayanan, President – Auto Vertical, and Mr. G. Krishnasami, Vice President (TQM), were also present on the occasion.
RSB has thus joined the select band of elite global quality corporates who have won this prestigious award.
The Deming Prize is an annual award given by JUSE to organizations that successfully implement TQM practices. RSB is the only Indian company to win this award in 2013.
Accepting the award, Mr. Behera said that TQM implementation has resulted in significant improvements in RSB’s overall performance.
Mr. SK Behera, Vice Chairman & Managing Director, who was involved throughout RSB’s Deming TQM journey, said: “At RSB quality has no finish line. We will always continue to enhance our quality, technology and management practices to delight our stakeholders”.
Complimenting the RSB team for its commitment and perseverance, he said the company would hereafter strive to win the highest Deming Award, the Deming Grand Prize.
