A global market leader in developing and manufacturing advanced bus air-conditioning systems, Denso presented its latest full electrical rooftop HVAC system with two integrated electrical compressors, meant for electric buses in 9 metre plus category. While this product is designed for Asian markets in particular, another variant with highly efficient heat pump system was also displayed for the European and North American customers. Simon Mof, Assistant Manager (Fleet) – Aftermarket and Industrial Solutions for Denso Europe, explained that the expectation behind this new product is an average improvement in efficiency by 10-20% as against that of rival products available.
“This integrated, efficient, lightweight air-conditioning delivers high thermal comfort and air quality with the lowest cost of ownership in the market,” he said. A similar technology product meant for double-decker buses will be out by next year, he claimed. For Denso Europe, air-conditioning and battery cooling systems are the core product lines meant for the bus industry. It is working with all leading chassis makers, bus body builders and operators, according to the company. “Busworld Europe is an important show for Denso, as it brings customers from across the world, far beyond Europe,” Simon replied when asked about the importance of the show. “We are having a decent number of OEM inquiries,” he added.
