“With vehicles becoming more and more ‘intelligent’, the need for right solutions has become critical. Our company has been in the forefront in providing testing solutions to Indian and global automotive companies for both end of line and R&D requirements”, said Mr. G. Gurumurthy, Director, Dynaspede, in an informal discussion with MOTORINDIA at the company’s Hosur facility.
As automotive product technology is rapidly evolving, the end of line processes used to test and inspect have followed the trend. Objective testing is replacing more and more subjective testing by human operators to shorten the production cycle and to ensure reproducibility and comparability of the results. With this paradigm shift, real time end of line noise testing of transmissions and power train elements is becoming a necessity for the manufacturers.
“We have invested major engineering efforts to develop technology for Real-time end of line NVH systems for Highly Accelerated Stress Screening (HASS) for automotive transmissions and power train elements. Noise-Vibration-Harshness (NVH) analysis solutions for end of assembly line helps identify defects of manufacturing and assembly, thus avoiding warranty complaints and recall of vehicles by the manufacturer”, he revealed.
As competition is increasing among vehicle manufacturers, companies across the value chain have a growing demand on reliability. Increasing commercial pressures to develop and deliver reliable products in a timely manner necessitate further accelerating the lab testing procedure.
“With the demand on reliability and commercial pressure on time, we have invested on our engineering efforts to develop technology for Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) on Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT) platform for power train elements. CBM with multi-sensor data analysis on a HALT platform monitors the condition of power train elements in order to detect anomalies, diagnose the health of critical components and its associated functional impact on the test element – thus accelerating the product development cycle”, he revealed.
“We take pride in saying that for the entire gamut of vehicles from small cars to heavy trucks and off-road vehicles, transmissions and drive line, are validated and verified by our testing machines and we are the single source for most of the auto majors. With introduction of AMT and its gaining popularity, we were the first in the country to provide test solutions for functional verification and defect identification”, added Mr. Gurumurthy.
