Edscha Trailer Systems is a technological leader and inventor of sliding roofs for trucks in Europe. Be it a curtain sider, full tarpaulin or sliding bow roof, Edscha offers optimal solutions and the best price-performance ratio for all kinds of cargo carriers with tarpaulin covers. In addition to customized product solutions for truck and rail traffic, it is also a partner for individual challenges in all applications of sliding roof systems.
The company plans to introduce a number of new products such as its curtain sider product line for Europe as well as new products for the rail road. Another product which Edscha is betting big on is the tipper roof which makes it possible for tippers to be driven with the roof closed regardless of whether it is loaded or not, resulting in fuel savings of nearly 10 per cent, translating to significant cost savings for the customer and having a greener carbon footprint.
Sharing his thoughts on markets outside of Europe, including India, Mr. Per Ericson, Managing Director & CEO, Edscha Trailer Systems GmbH, says: “We believe that our product portfolio will help us to stabilize our business in the sense that we will be less dependent on the volatile truck and trailer market in Europe. Our ambition is to establish substantial business outside Europe. India is obviously of great interest to us. We have already seen that there is an interest concerning our curtain sider and full tarp roofs, and we believe that our tipper roof will also be of interest to the Indian market.”
Edscha aims to build a service network in India with its staff in Chennai, together with local partners, to give the company a chance to provide local support to its customers and maintain high service levels. “We believe that the Indian market will grow over the coming years when it comes down to road transportation and the need of covering the cargo in a professional way. Therefore it is important to us to be established early in the market. This means that we see the present establishment of our company in the Indian market as an investment with a long-term goal of making profit in 2020. We also aim to increase the local content in our products. This is a process which has already started and we will continue to build up a supplier structure within India”, he adds.
