Safexpress has received its 100th state-of-the-art Eicher light and medium-duty truck in the current fiscal year, adding the Eicher Pro 2055, India’s first 5.5-ton GVW electric truck, to its fleet.
Eicher Trucks and Buses, a business division of VE Commercial Vehicles Limited, has announced a significant advancement in its partnership with Safexpress, India’s largest logistics and supply chain organization, which offers express distribution, 3PL, and consulting services to over 5000 customers across the country. During a ceremony commemorating this achievement, Safexpress welcomed its 100th Eicher truck into its fleet for the current fiscal year. As part of this enduring partnership, India’s first 5.5-ton GVW electric truck, the Eicher Pro 2055 EV, was officially handed over to Safexpress. This development underscores Eicher Trucks and Buses’ dedication to collaborating with its customers to reduce the carbon footprint associated with transportation, in alignment with the government’s Net-Zero vision.

Eicher light and medium-duty trucks have a long-standing tradition of delivering best-in-class fuel efficiency and profitability to their customers, and the new Eicher Pro 2055 EV will continue this legacy. Built on Eicher’s established electric vehicle technology, which is already in use in intra-city bus applications, this truck boasts a deck length of 12ft and comes equipped with two fully built container solutions. It offers both fast and slow charging options tailored to specific applications. The service solution also takes into account the availability of charging infrastructure, operational requirements, charging time constraints, battery capacity, and overall energy management strategies for the fleet. Additionally, the truck is equipped with Eicher’s advanced telematics solution and is supported by the My Eicher services platform.
