With state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities, testing laboratories and R&D centers around the world, Elgi is able to deliver products to the most demanding users.
Elgi’s products are sold all over the world under the five popular brands – Jet (tyre retread and repair systems), Pincott (rasp blades, hubs & spacers), Carbrasive (brazed carbide tools), Midwest Rubber (gums, adhesives and sealants) and Ecorr (reclaimed rubber).
Jet – Retread and Repair Systems
Jet manufactures a comprehensive range of tire and tube repairs, retreading and repair equipment, tools and accessories used in the rubber industry, predominantly in the tyre sector. Jet’s tire and tube repairs have been approved by leading tire companies worldwide. Its modular design retreading equipments are very easy to operate and maintain. Form-molded outer curing envelopes with special compound have the lowest cost per cure in the industry.
Jet also offers a wide range of random and structured grit carbides used for tire and industrial repairs. Smooth and uniform grit surface of these tools provides an even and clean texture. Jet’s exclusive heat-treated buffing blades (refills) cover all popular buffing machines worldwide.
Pincott – Rasp Blades, Hubs and Spacers
Pincott has been a world leader in the tyre retreading and recycling industry since 1947. Carrying on the tradition of James Spencer Pincott and his 60 years in the retreading industry, Pincott International Pty Ltd. is considered the “next generation” in the manufacture of Pincott rasp blades and accessories. It provides its customers an exclusive heat treatment process on rasp blades, air-cooled spacers and rasp pins of longer life, and stamped rasp blades designed for all buffing machines.
The company remains committed to maintain its high level of investment in market growth, product improvement, innovation and technical expertise.
Armonas – Retread process equipment
Armonas manufactures retread process equipment such as complete mono rail system for the tire retread process, envelop expander, tire cleaner unit, cement booth, tire repair and skiving stations, and exhaust and extraction systems.
Midwest – Gums, Adhesives and Sealants
Midwest manufactures a wide range of gums, adhesives and sealants for the tyre retread and repair industry. It produces gums in three various cure rates. Retreaders have a choice of gums depending on the operating temperature and the curing equipments employed. An excellent black vulcanizing cement contains special additives to bond to exposed cords such as nylon, rayon, polyester, etc. A thick, viscous sealant seals small troublesome leaks around the tyre bead of tubeless tyres and wheel.
Chemical vulcanizing cement is a natural rubber solution containing activators and accelators that act upon special curing material to effect chemical cure at room temperature.
Carbrasive – Brazed Carbide Tools
Carbrasive offers a wide range of random and structured grit carbides used in tire and industrial repairs. Carbrasive random carbides run without vibration and last longer. Its grit tools are ideal for sensitive buffing like inner liner, sidewall, etc. Smooth and uniform grit surface of the tools provides an even and clean texture.
Ecorr – Reclaim Rubber
Rubber resources recycling activities were started nearly 50 years ago in Maastricht, the Netherlands, by the Dutch tire producer Vredestein. This company developed these activities out of an environmental green drive and of course for economical reasons. The high quality demands of the tire industry are still today their main focus and standard quality level.
During the five decades of recycling, the company has been able to learn, improve and use that experience for the customers of today. The Maastricht plant is still the main location where it devulcanizes natural and butyl rubber. Next to this plant, reclaim activities grew when they were bought by the Elgi Group in 2011. Elgi’s two reclaim rubber plants in India extended the devulcanized rubber capacity by 50 per cent.
