MANN+HUMMEL’s turnover at
record high in 2011
MANN+HUMMEL continues to grow. In 2011, the
development partner and series supplier to the interna-
tional automotive and mechanical engineering indus-
tries increased its turnover worldwide to approximately
2.5 billion euros (2010: 2.18 billion euros) and produced
a satisfactory result. The group hired a large number of
new staff in Europe, North and South America and Asia.
The number of permanent staff has now risen to about
14,400 employees (2010: 13.201).

2011 we set new production records at many locations
and often produced for seven days a week. The commit-
ment of our team around the world is impressive and
our customers have rewarded us with new and repeat
orders. Our order books promise a good start to the new
business year of 2012”, explains Alfred Weber, CEO,
MANN+HUMMEL.

The group has expanded its business activities in the
areas of water filtration and water treatment in a number
of Asian markets such as Korea and the Philippines and
also Europe. Recently, at the start of 2012, it expanded
strategically in the area of water with the acquisition of
a Brazilian specialist company.
Every year, MANN+HUMMEL invests approximate-
ly four per cent of sales in research and development,
which is well above the regional average of 2.6 per cent.
The focus in research and development has always been
to offer sustainable and environmentally-friendly prod-
ucts and technology. Respect for people and the envi-
ronment is one of its six essential corporate values.
In the years from 1999 to 2011 the group recorded an
average annual growth of nine per cent and plans up to
2018 to increase its turnover to 3.4 billion euros.

In2011, inthecourseof pursuingitsstrategicgrowth
and diversification targets, MANN+HUMMEL real-
ised a record level of investment worldwide and
expanded its business and production base. The
filtration specialist set up new locations in Ger-
many, the US, China and India and expanded the
existing locations.
