TVSAutomobileSolutions’
plan for fresh tie-ups, JVs
TVS Automobile Solutions,
a subsidiary of TVS & Sons,
is planning to make a couple
of strategic tie-up and joint
venture announcements at
Auto Expo 2012. “The deals
are in the final stage, and we
are hoping to make a couple
of announcements at Auto
Expo”, said Mr. R. Dinesh,
Joint Managing Director,
TVS & Sons Ltd.
The new joint venture / ac-
quisitions are expected to be
with companies in the north-
ern and western regions of
India where the company
already has its presence, and
this move would further ex-
pand its businesses in these
regions.
Mr. Dinesh said: “We have
ambitiously set a target to
double the volume of our current
businesses by 2015. We are not a
South India-based company any-
more as we already have our pres-
ence in States like Madhya Pradesh,
Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra. We
would be looking to expand our busi-
nesses more in these regions through
strategic tie-ups and JV partnerships
and further diversify our business
across the country.”

TVS & Sons are planning to
expand their dealership and
service outlets and would
look to set up 100 more out-
lets by 2015 and create an
employment opportunity for
around 5,000 people by then.
Besides expansion, the com-
pany is also looking to invest
substantially on skill devel-
opment.
“We believe these centres
would help upgrade talent not
only for our companies but
for other businesses involved
in this sector also. We expect
proactive steps by the State
and Central Governments
to declare the services sec-
tor as a key area of focus, as
employment generation at all
levels takes place in this sec-
tor in a large way”, Mr. Di-
nesh added.
TVS & Sons currently is in the
business of four-wheeler and CV
dealership, automobile parts distri-
bution, logistics and four-wheeler
aftermarket business (TVS Automo-
bile Solutions). The company also
has its presence in countries like the
US, the UK, Germany, Spain, Thai-
land, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, and
is looking to expand its businesses
to other countries across the globe.
