Isuzu IS12T truck launched
in Kerala
Since several years, Kerala is a
high potential market for the SML
Isuzu range of products. During
2010-11, SML Isuzu dealers togeth-
er sold 2,381 units, the highest in the
past 25 years. In the current financial
year, SML Isuzu has a goal of sell-
ing nearly 3,000 units in Kerala.
On December 9, the first sale of
the all-new Isuzu IS12T, 12-ton
GVW truck was delivered to a ce-
ment dealer in Palakkad. The ve-
hicle has a very powerful 5200 cc
Isuzu engine churning out 150 hp.
The 6+1 gear box, which is also
manufactured by Isuzu, is an added
advantage for the cement segment.
The SML Isuzu Kerala team has
got strong business plans to pen-
etrate into the 12-ton GVW seg-
ment with its newly-launched IS12T
truck.
New sales outlet opened
Meanwhile, the company
has inaugurated its new sales
outlet at Palakkad. Known as
Kingston Motors, headed by
Mr. Sreekumaran Nair, who is
a major player in the auto body
building segment from central
Kerala. The outlet was inau-
gurated by Mr. V. Nilakantan,
Area Manager, SML Isuzu Ltd.
Situated on Trichur-Palakkad
byepass road, the outlet will
also be dealing in service and
spares of SML Isuzu products
for Palakkad district.
Palakkad has always been a
strong market for SML Isuzu,
vehicle industry
with the sales figure crossing 200
vehicles per annum. As a part of in-
creased emphasis on the Palakkad
market with new Isuzu products
coming into its product range, the
company has aggressive business
plans for it.
Kingston Motors is an ISO 9001-
2008 certified company which is
into auto body building with G.
Sreekumaran Nair as Proprietor.
Kingston has its registered office at
Kalamassery, Cochin, which is op-
erating for the past two decades.
Mr. Vimal Raj, an engineer by pro-
fession, is its Managing Director.
