SKF expands Pune vehicle parts center
to meet growing aftermarket demand
SKF has expanded its vehicle parts center in Pune for
automotive aftermarket distribution business, Vehicle
Service Market (VSM). The center now caters to the
growing demand for automotive aftermarket across In-
dia by packaging and distributing wheel bearings kits
for two- and four-wheelers, engine bearings kits, trans-
mission bearings kits, steering race kits, etc. The expan-
sion adds significant floor space to the parts center to
accommodate critical parts and provide a complete kit
to the end markets.
“India’s two-wheeler and four-wheeler market growth
has been very positive and the replacement and after-
market demand have gone up significantly. We have ex-
panded our vehicle parts center to cater to the growing
demand”, said Magnus Johansson, Director - Vehicle
Service Market (VSM), SKF Group, during the inau-
guration. “With the additional space and capacity, the
center will further reduce the lead time for going to mar-
kets, ensuring faster service to customers.”
“As customers are more aware of products and tech-
nologies today, they look for a composite set of products
and accessories as opposed to buying each item in iso-
lation. Through this packaging and distribution center
we enable this value addition for end users by providing
them a complete off-the-shelf kit for ready use”, said
Mr. Shishir Joshipura, Managing Director and Country
Head - SKF in India. “This expansion of our vehicle
parts center will facilitate higher volumes and faster
reach of our products and services to distributors, deal-
ers and end users.”
VSM deals with the aftermarket for two- and four-
wheelers across the country. SKF offers high quality
products to its customers involved in maintaining vehi-
cles or supplying products to the automobile mechanics
and end users alike.
VSM’s range of products and services is the result
of relentless innovation and constant improvement in
the design of all critical components, from engines and
electronics to driveline and wheel-end systems. Expan-
sion of its vehicle parts centre is testimony to SKF’s
sustained effort at improving its products and services.
