Escorts Kubota unveiled a comprehensive range of mini excavators, drawing a positive response from visitors. Bajaj highlighted the versatility of the excavators, ranging from 1.7 to 5 tons, and emphasized their application in various sectors. The discussion covered the company’s strength in diverse construction equipment, expansive network, after-sales support, and a commitment to cost-effective solutions. Bajaj’s insights provided a comprehensive overview of Escorts Kubota’s position and strategies in the construction equipment industry.

Escorts Kubota Limited, a key player in the construction equipment industry, recently showcased a diverse range of mini excavators at an industry exhibition. Sanjeev Bajaj, Chief Officer of Escorts Kubota Limited, expressed satisfaction with the positive response, stating, “We are getting a good footfall, with a lot of interested customers including existing customers who have already experienced Kubota products and want to explore the new models and features.”

Bajaj highlighted the versatility of their mini excavators, ranging from 1.7 tons to 5 tons, with a special mention of the new 3.5-ton mini excavator. He emphasized that the different tonnage capacities cater to specific applications, such as tight space work in basements, trenching jobs, or Municipal Corporation projects, saying, “Each tonnage capacity serves a distinct purpose in various applications.”

Escorts Kubota Limited is not only renowned for its mini excavators but also excels in pick and carry cranes, backhoe loaders, and compactors. Bajaj shared that they represent approximately 54% of the overall construction equipment industry and hold a 10% market share in the sector, stating, “Our diverse product range positions us as a significant player in the construction equipment market.”

Discussing their expansive network, Bajaj highlighted the strength of their dealers and distributors, with around 90 exclusive dealers for Escorts Kubota range of construction equipments. With the recent merger, they are set to reach more than 100 dealers to cover a wide range of products across India and also set to position the products globally with a wide international network. Bajaj affirmed, “Our channel partners are crucial to our success, with their loyalty and dedication helping us expand our reach and serve our customers better.”

When it comes to after-sales support, Bajaj mentioned their focus on adapting to changing customer expectations. They have close to 300 branch offices and mobile service vans or bikes to provide doorstep service. The emphasis is on investing in new tooling and testing equipment for preventive maintenance and equipment durability. Bajaj emphasized, “Our commitment to after-sales service ensures that our customers experience minimal downtime and receive prompt support whenever they need it.”

Addressing cost concerns, Bajaj assured that Escorts Kubota uses more than 95% indigenized components, keeping end-user costs low. Despite some reliance on imported electronic components, they are actively working towards increased localization. Bajaj explained, “By prioritizing local manufacturing, we aim to offer cost-effective solutions to our customers without compromising on quality.”

Looking ahead, Bajaj expressed optimism about the industry’s growth, attributing it to the government’s focus on infrastructure development. He emphasized Escorts Kubota’s commitment to supporting their customers by delivering the right products at the right prices, ensuring efficiency and performance. Bajaj concluded, “Our goal is to continue playing a pivotal role in the construction industry’s growth, aligning with national priorities and meeting the evolving needs of our customers.”
