Scania has just handed over the first R 500 tractor unit in India to Agarwal’s Carrier Corporation of India (ACCI). This is in line with the company commitment, following the launch of the on-road haulage segment, to providing reliable, fuel-efficient transport solutions to customers.
The Scania R 500 6×4 is a heavy duty tractor-unit that is rightly called “King of the Road” across the global market. It is powered by the best-in-class 500 hp V8 engine, offering a high low-speed torque rating, essential for super over-dimensional cargo (ODC) transport. With the automated gear changing system, Scania Opticruise, it will be the first vehicle of its kind on the Indian market to carry super ODC across the country under the most demanding of highway conditions.
Customers are reaping the benefits that Scania products can bring through total cost of ownership (TCO) and are increasingly appreciative of the TCO concept.
