In an exclusive interaction with Rajesh Rajgor, the co-founders of Five Lasercut—Akhil Shrimal, Arpit Dixit, and Ishwar Singh Rathore—reveal their journey from corporate careers to building an innovative trailer manufacturing company. With their flagship VIRAT Trailer, they have introduced lightweight designs that boost payload capacity and reduce costs, while rapidly scaling operations and diversifying their portfolio. Their story is one of vision, passion, and redefining industry standards.

It was in August 2024 that I first met the mellow, down-to-earth gentlemen Arpit Dixit and Akhil Shrimal at the Truck Trailer and Tyre Show in Gandhinagar. It was here that Five Lasercut made its debut with the Virat Trailer brand, which they proudly claim to be one of the lightest trailers in India, offering an increased payload capacity of over 2.5 MT while reducing operational and capital costs. Their innovation and vision left a lasting impression.
Five months later, still intrigued by their story, I decided to delve deeper and rang up Arpit to learn more. This conversation brought me into contact with their co-founder, Ishwar Singh Rathore, and gave me a glimpse into the passion and commitment that fuels their work. As I explored further, it became evident that this trio’s vision goes beyond trailers—it’s about redefining industry standards and driving change through innovation.

Akhil, a mechanical engineer and MBA from Global Nxt University, Malaysia, leads the company’s design, manufacturing, and innovation projects. Arpit, a cost accountant and IIM Kozhikode alumnus, focuses on sales, marketing, strategy, and finance. Ishwar has a background into Telcom, Infra, Warehousing and Facility Management Services and is a seasoned businessman.
Akhil and Arpit, took a bold step, leaving successful corporate careers with giants like Aditya Birla Group, UltraTech Cement, Wonder Cement, Shree Cement, General Motors, and Dalmia Cement to found Five Laser Cut in 2022. The company has since become a reliable OEM supplier and a pioneer in innovative trailer manufacturing.

“Our mentors and past employers imbued in us values like integrity, commitment, and customer centricity, which have shaped our entrepreneurial mindset,” shared Akhil and Arpit. In just two years, the company has grown from 14 to 200 employees and diversified its portfolio across industries such as automotive, farm machinery & tractor, construction, and cement.

“The VIRAT trailers are a testament to our engineering innovation,” shares Arpit. “By using lightweight designs and advanced materials, we offer our customers significant operational advantages, including cost savings and improved payload capacity. These trailers represent a paradigm shift in design, reducing weight by 30%-40% compared to traditional models while delivering enhanced durability. This weight reduction enables fleet operators to boost profitability by carrying more per trip with lower fuel and maintenance costs,” he adds.
Their facility at Pithampur, M.P, boasts state-of-the-art machinery of German origin, coupled with advanced quality control systems and design testing infrastructure. The company has also been approved under global novelty checks for 2 Global Patents. Supported by a young, energetic, and experienced team across design, production, and manufacturing functions, Five Laser Cut ensures robust and reliable products for its customers.”Our trailers are developed through detailed deliberations with customers regarding their applications, routes, and aerodynamics,” Arpit explains. “This allows us to tailor products to meet specific needs and requirements.”
Five Laser Cut’s clientele includes prominent names in the transport sector, such as Shivani Carriers Pvt. Ltd., Yan Transport Pvt. Ltd., Raman Rodways Pvt. Ltd., Shree Ganpatlal Onkarlal & Co., IPL Electric Pvt. Ltd., and Om Logistics Ltd., alongside technology-driven fleets adopting EV, CNG, and LNG solutions. Built on the collective expertise of its founders—spanning over 20 years across cement, steel, chemical, and automotive industries—the company remains focused on delivering value and tailored solutions to meet evolving customer needs.
“Our customers trust us to solve their unique challenges,” adds Ishwar. “Whether it’s creating lightweight trailers or customizing solutions for specialized applications, we ensure every product meets the highest standards of quality and performance.”
A Solution-Driven Approach
The VIRAT trailers distinguish themselves through meticulous design and advanced engineering, offering a range of significant advantages to fleet operators. “With an increased payload capacity of 1.5 to 2.5 metric tons, these trailers enable higher efficiency on every trip. Fuel savings are another key benefit, as operators can reduce fuel consumption by 7 to 9 liters per 200 kilometers during empty runs,” shares Akhil.
Fleet optimization is further enhanced, as the lighter trailers reduce the number of vehicles required in operations—22 instead of 23 for the same workload—leading to lower operational costs. Additionally, the durability of the trailer body is doubled, offering extended lifespans and ensuring long-term reliability. Maintenance costs are also significantly reduced, further improving fleet profitability.
Moreover, the lighter trailer designs translate to optimized capital investments, with lower EMIs and faster returns on investment. Finally, these trailers align with sustainability goals by reducing CO2 emissions, enabling eco-friendly operations.
“Our goal is to make every fleet owner’s investment worthwhile,” explains Akhil. “From increasing payloads to reducing carbon footprints, our solutions address both economic and environmental concerns head-on.”
Strategic Growth and Future Innovations
Currently serving markets across Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and Jharkhand, Five Laser Cut is rapidly scaling its footprint nationwide. The company’s strategic focus on product innovation has resulted in a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 45%.
With over 200 homologated variants in its portfolio and an aggressive development pipeline, Five Laser Cut launched nine vehicle segments in 2024 alone and is on track to introduce groundbreaking products in 2025. “Innovation is at the heart of everything we do,” says Akhil. “Our team constantly works to refine designs, integrate advanced technologies, and exceed customer expectations.”
By combining customer-centricity, engineering expertise, and environmental responsibility, Five Laser Cut Metal Technology Pvt. Ltd. has positioned itself as a trailblazer in the transport and engineering sectors. “We aim to be a catalyst for change in the industry,” concludes Akhil. “By offering solutions that maximize efficiency and minimize impact, we’re helping build a more productive and sustainable future for transport operations.”
As the company continues to expand and innovate, it is poised to set new benchmarks in efficiency, sustainability, and customer satisfaction—paving the way for a transformative future in transportation.
