The French Trade Commission, UBIFRANCE India, and the French partners IFCCI, LUTB and ERAI, jointly organized a Supplier-Buyer Meet at Auto Expo 2014 in Delhi. The French presence in the Indian automotive sector is already vast with a car manufacturer and large equipment manufacturers having set up production bases in India. This provides a unique platform to enhance Indo-French collaborations sector-wide even further.
More than 70 B-2-B meetings were also organized by UBIFRANCE during the expo that should pave the way for technical and business partnerships.
The delegation of nine French companies met key market players like Tata Motors, Maruti-Suzuki, Hyundai, BMW, etc., during their visit. To enhance their field experience, an industrial visit was also arranged.
UBIFRANCE and IFCCI also organized a round-table discussion followed by a discussion on topics such as the Indian automotive industry – Trends, Opportunities & Doing Business in India, Engineering Resources and Reverse Innovation in India for Automobile Components Manufacturers and Managing Business in the Indian Auto Component Industry during turbulent times.
The nine French participants were GUILLEMIN, an expert in assembly and cold flow riveting machines (orbital & radial); NERGECO, worldwide leader in flexible industrial doors; NUMALLIANCE, a leading manufacturer of CNC bending machines for metallic wire, tube, flat stock and spring; FAVI, specialising in shift forks manual transmissions; ASSYSTEM, an engineering & consultancy services provider; SIMPLAST, engineering & consultancy services specialist in fluid assisted injection moulding processes; ALTEN, engineering & consultancy services for OEMs & Tier-1 suppliers; IFPEN, research and innovation & training centre, active in the fields of energy, transport and environment; and EOLANE, an electronics in design, industrialization and production for top, middle range and even low-cost products.
