GEA attended Busworld again this year and presented its new FKX40/755 K compressor alongside its proven solutions. The compressor is a model with 755 cm³ capacity offering around 18 per cent more power than the next size down. Specifically designed for bus air-conditioning, the series now has five models to cover capacities of between 385 and 755 cm³.
Given its power, the FKX40/755 K is best suited for use in buses with higher cooling requirements – e.g., city, articulated and inter-city buses – as it ensures high performance even at low speeds. It fits in well with modern diesel engines that travel at relatively low speeds in order to ensure lower emissions.
As all FK40 models have the same dimensions regardless of capacity, the powerful FKX40/755 K has a high power density and hence offers more power in the same space. It is equipped with the K-valve plate specifically developed for use in bus air-conditioning and can also be equipped with all other options in the FK series.
GEA also presented proven solutions at Busworld such as compressors from the robust variable-speed semi-hermetic HG series, designed for use in electric and hybrid buses and available with lightweight aluminum housing.
