Leveraging its network strength and brand equity, George Oakes has launched superior quality products such as fasteners, bulbs and lubricants
George Oakes, the highly esteemed distribution wing of Amalgamations Group, is foraying into new business prospects. In order to strengthen its product portfolio, the company has launched an array of automotive products under its own brand. These products will be a game-changer for the organisation and solidify its presence further in the retail market. George Oakes Ltd. is a market leader in automotive parts distribution with its corporate office in Chennai and 40+ locations across South and West India. For the last 80+ years, the company has been widely recognised for delivering superior quality products of OEMs and aftermarket brands to its strong retail network.
The company has always worked in tandem with the Amalgamations Groups’ philosophy of offering customers nothing short of the best products. For close to a century now, it has been distributing spare parts of leading OEM brands such as Tata Motors and Mahindra and Mahindra and aftermarket players such as Bosch, Gabriel, Rane Brake Lining, Talbros, TAFE, India Pistons, Shaktiman, Valeo, Valvoline, Shell, AMREP, Piaggio and Simpson. Although organised players comprising OEM and OES brands hold a significant share of business, the unorganised brands take a sizable share in the Indian automotive aftermarket.
Leveraging its network strength and brand equity, George Oakes has launched superior quality products in its own brand name that offer value for money to customers. The new range of George Oakes’ labelled products includes fasteners, bulbs and lubes. All these products are engineered using the latest technology and adhere to industry standards. George Oakes’ fasteners are made of high-grade mild steel for the purpose of strong mechanical joints. The lighting range consists of halogen, miniature and LED lamps. The lamps are made of quartz material for better durability.
The lubricants range uses superior quality additives to offer high performance. Commenting on this development, CEO and Whole Time Director Vijay Pandey says, “Owing to our strong compliance to quality, the George Oakes’ label has come to be trusted by over 3,000 customers across India in the short duration of one year since the launch. We are currently working towards expanding the product portfolio. In addition, we are constantly enhancing our brand outreach through ATL and BTL marketing campaigns across the country.”
Adding to this, Vertical Head (Sales) Sarvana Kumar says, “George Oakes will diversify its business in all the vehicle segments. Our company, which currently has a strong foothold in distribution, aims to secure a decent market share in the aftermarket business. Targeting the share of unorganised component market, we are coming up with George Oakes’ branded products for two-wheeler, four-wheeler, tractor and commercial vehicle segments. This will ensure that we reach out to all the categories. Further, the George Oakes label itself guarantees superior quality and therefore we are confident of making deep inroads into the India market.”
