The curtains came down on the spectacular ‘Go Extra’ campaign with a vibrant closing ceremony at Jaipur on the last day of the pan-India trip. An initiative by MOTORINDIA, the campaign turned out to be a runaway success, with the large red metal wonder – the Ashok Leyland AVTR 5-axle ‘Go Extra’ truck – covering over 8,500 km across 60 days and 9 states, reaching out to an trucking audience of over 5,000 fleet operators, drivers and mechanics across the country.
The closing ceremony saw special banners and hoardings erected to highlight the astounding numbers pertaining to the campaign along with a cake cutting to round off the event on a happy note. Since the campaign’s last day came just before Holi, the audience and the teams from all partner brands had a gala time in celebration, both for the occasion and to mark the campaign’s success. Apart from getting a touch and feel of the various products and solutions on display, the fleet operators, drivers and mechanics took to the stage to express their delight and gratitude to Bridgestone India, MOTORINDIA and the rest of the partner brands – Trucking Partner Ashok Leyland, Bearing Partner Delux Bearings, Suspension Partner Jamna Auto and Lighting Partner Excelite – DH Lighting India – for organizing such a unique and easily accessible event for an often-ignored community that plays a vital role in contributing to the country’s economy.
The primary objective of the campaign – to introduce Bridgestone’s new M721 tyre to key stakeholders in the trucking industry – was a massive hit, with the tyre maker gaining huge popularity, goodwill and even some big orders at some of the locations where the events were held.
All partners associated with the campaign expressed their delight and appreciation for the stupendous effort that went into the planning and execution of the two-month long trip and ensuring it proved to be a highly successful one. There was special praise for the MOTORINDIA team, headed by Avijit Lahiri, who were immaculate in their work and ensured the campaign went ahead smoothly despite multiple challenges including the COVID wave that had engulfed the country.
