Along with the ‘STEPSTAR’ semi lowloader, Goldhofer presented its new ‘TRAILSTAR’ air-suspension trailer from the ‘STAR’ family at this year’s IAA Transportation in Hanover from 20 to 25 September.
The three- to five-axle air-suspension trailer offers transportation companies maximum flexibility and top quality engineering combined with minimum deadweight. The new design allows optimal use of loading area length and loading center of gravity.
The new ‘TRAILSTAR’ adopts the many proven advantages of the ‘STEPSTAR’ line for the trailer sector as part of Goldhofer’s response to today’s growing demand for flexible transportation solutions. Like the ‘STEPSTAR’, the ‘TRAILSTAR’ comes with lots of intelligent details, including a practical load securing system, form-fit pocket stakes and the practical ramp system for an extremely low approach angle to accommodate low-floor vehicles. The new trailer also features 10 t lashing points on the full length of the loading deck. As an optional extra, a very wide, deep and long excavator boom recess is available for transporting excavators with large excavator arms.
The innovative trailer has still more to offer: “Like all vehicles in the ‘STAR’ family, it has an optimum payload-to-deadweight ratio. Plus, the 4- and 5-axle versions feature self-tracking steering for even greater maneuverability,” says Markus Albrecht, Product Line Manager for the ‘STAR’ family at Goldhofer. In addition, the flexible trailer has Wader container latches for transporting 10-foot construction containers. The ‘TRAILSTAR’ is also available with the new Goldhofer ‘CargoPlus’ tires for ten or twelve tons axle load, offering a loading height of only 780 mm (-60/+140mm). With its expanded product portfolio in the ‘STEPSTAR’ family plus the new ‘TRAILSTAR’, Goldhofer enables haulage companies in the construction and forwarding sectors to transport universal loads economically, reliably, quickly and safely. “With the ‘STAR’ family, we have developed a straightforward, robust and economical product line that offers our customers meaningful advantages in terms of the versatility of their fleets. The common parts strategy adopted for the ‘STAR’ family delivers economies of scale in fleet management for our customers for increased profitability,” adds Robert Steinhauser, Sales Manager Europe / North Africa at Goldhofer. These flexible solutions make Goldhofer a strong partner for day-to-day operations and help to keep costs under control while maintaining proven quality and short delivery times.
Thanks to its intelligent design, smart details, a practical range of accessories and simple, user-friendly operation, the Goldhofer ‘STEPSTAR’ is very much in demand. The use of high-grade premium components also pays off: Customer feedback shows that the high standard of quality means longer maintenance intervals and thus significantly lower total cost of ownership compared with similar vehicles.
Goldhofer presented the ‘STEPSTAR’ and the ‘TRAILSTAR’, both in four-axle versions, at IAA Transportation in Hall 25, Stand C07.
