Growdiesel cutting-edge technology for renewable diesel

Renewable diesel is the combination of renewable feedstock gasification and further upgradation technologies. Growdiesel is the sole growdieselrenewable oil and gas exploration and production organization in India working on Next Generation cleanfuels. It specialises in developing high-risk ideas into high-value businesses. It has already developed its cutting-edge technology, equipments and catalysts to convert various renewable feedstocks to green diesel and other fuels.

Growdiesel is now establishing modern bio-refineries to produce renewable drop-in fuels which can be directly used in the existing engines, vehicles, equipments and entire existing petroleum infrastructure without any modifications. Use of Growdiesel renewable diesel signifies great savings in fresh investments in designing and developing new engine/infrastructure.

The Growdiesel Venture Fund to be launched soon will provide capital solutions to profit-focused, entrepreneur-driven small and medium enterprises. It targets an investment of Rs. 600 crores initially with a special focus on businesses in the renewable oil and gas sector.

Projected future shortages of crude oil, coupled with growing worldwide demand for transportation fuels, has raised general interest in renewable diesel production from renewable feedstocks. Renewable diesel manufacturing is the biggest opportunity for entrepreneurs, investors and corporates. It is completely compatible with the existing fuels infrastructure for replacement of fossil diesel.

Every year, millions of tons of methane are released worldwide into the atmosphere through microbial activity. About 90 per cent of the emitted methane derives from biogenic sources, i.e., from the decomposition of waste. Unlike fossil fuel combustion, Next Generation cleanfuels production from waste, biomass and other reneable feedstocks is considered CO2 neutral and therefore does not emit additional greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.

Fossil petroleum being used today was made millions of years ago. It can’t be made in a short time, i.e., petroleum is called non-renewable. This means that once we use up all that is available on the earth, there is no more. By burning, fossil petroleum generates a great deal of greenhouse gas into the atmosphere, and this is the main cause of global warming. Today economic growth, energy independence, climate change, etc., necessitate moving beyond fossil petroleum.

Next Generation cleanfuels are more reliable and plentiful and will potentially be very cheap. Fossil petroleum requires costly explorations and potentially dangerous mining and drilling and they will become more expensive as supplies dwindle and demand increases. NextGen cleanfuels produces only minute levels of carbon emissions and therefore helps combat climate change caused by fossil petroleum usage.

Now production of NextGen cleanfuels from Jatropha Curcas is a confirmed viable solution. Jatropha was considered a potential feedstock for biofuel production for several reasons: its oil-rich seeds; the fact that the plant is not edible and therefore does not remove a food source from humans and animals; and its ability to thrive in poor soils and dry conditions. But each of these advantages is far outweighed by several drawbacks such as its poor performance under cold conditions.
