Hella India’s fully-built LED lamps for CV segment growing popular

Hella India has developed its fully-built light emitting diode (LED) lamps at its Chandigarh plant with technological support from Hella, New Zealand, for commercial vehicles. The company has also adopted a new strategy to reorient its future activities towards ensuring road safety in India. It seeks to reduce the number of deaths caused in road accidents by 10 per cent by the end of this decade. This is in line with the company motto of “Technology of Tomorrow for the Life of Today”.

The latest statistics reveal that there are almost one lakh deaths occur due to road accidents. Hence the company is committed to road safety by launching safety enabling products, enhancing awareness of risks involved in night driving and also by attracting the attention of NGOs and Government departments to the seriousness of the problem.

The special features of the newly-developed product include upto 90 per cent less power consumption, superior lens & optic material, ultra-wide visibility optic, high UV resistance, completely water-proof IPK system, and extra-high vibration and temperature control. It also carries a five-year warranty for commercial vehicles, which is a real bonanza for vehicle operators.

The product is fully tested and certified before being supplied to the customers. While this product has been approved technically by reputed CV OEM’s in India, and one of them has started using the same. Talks are also on with other OEM customers, also the product is now undergoing trial with fleet operators like VRL Logistics.

Apart from lighting equipments, Hella also supplies high quality horns, Electrical switches and wiring harness, sensors, actuators etc., specially designed for commercial vehicles.

Around 25 per cent of the company’s aftermarket sales revenue comes from the CV segment.
